X marks where you won't get a spot.

For folks who want a simple rear fender for occasional use, the SKS X-Blade Rear Fender is what you're looking for. It clamps around your seatpost, and it pivots both at the post and at the interface between the clamp and the fender itself. This dual-pivot design allows you to customize the exact position of the fender over your rear wheel for any size road bike. Ideal for riding in areas where the roads are wet in the morning (we think of misty San Francisco), but it's not actually rainy out. Total weight with hardware is 205g, and it comes in Black only. One other note: we recommend pairing the X-Blade with the X-Board to get a similar level of protection from the spray of your front wheel.

The shifting has become so much of a problem that I don't like dealing with it unless there is rain. This means I'm often riding with nothing, causing my jackets to become stained. The shifting is just too annoying to deal with on a daily commute. I'd try another.

This will keep the rain off of your butt, no doubt. It does it's job and does it well. My only complaint is that it's tough to get the strap on your seat post tight enough so that the fender doesn't shift.

I got the 29er, and it works for both my 29er mountain bike, and daily commuter. The shifting is much less of a problem on my commuter though.
