Blending traditional camber with modern, mid-fat dimensions, the Ski Trab Volare Ski is rearing up like a wild pony to get first tracks after Mother Nature showered your world with snowy love. Built to perform in a wide variety of conditions and over a large spectrum of terrain, this nimble, torsionally stiff, swallow-tail stick can handle everything from ski-mountaineering expeditions to dawn patrol tele turns.
The traditional camber profile provides tons of edge contact for reliable grip on hardpack, and 99mm underfoot handles shin-high powder so you won't just tank when there's a dusting in the backcountry. Fat tips don't make for good texting, but they make for buoyancy whether you're breaking trail or leaving a trail of smoky cold powder behind you.
When you're zig-zagging towards the summit, the last thing you need is extra weight bringing you down. At roughly three pounds a ski, your feet won't forget about the ski, but you won't be dragging unnecessary weight up the 1,500-meter ascent you've planned for your dawn patrol. The Aero Core honeycomb design keeps the weight off, and quad cap construction helps you keep your edge on the ascent. Poor-fitting skins can wreck a smooth ascent, but the Volare has Evo(lved). Between Evo tip technology and the cleaved tail, you can slap a skin on the base of the ski and take it off just as easily.
