Superlight mountaineering magic.

Let this sink in for a minute: at around 4.5lbs per pair, the mountaineering-ready Magico Ski is the fourth-lightest offering in Ski Trab's lineup. Yup. At about half the weight of an average alpine board and a do-it-all 84mm underfoot, the Magico is the most versatile ski in Ski Trab's Attivo collection, capable of surfing through powder, gripping in ice and wind-affected snow, and rallying the ascent at speeds that make an alpine start unnecessary (almost). Ski Trab built the Magico using its ultralight Aero-Core Aramid Honeycomb compound for an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, and wrapped the ski in Hibox carbon-cage mesh to keep it stiff under torsion so it doesn't feel like a wimpy toothpick when you're jump turning down a sketchy coulie, edging through month-old sastrugi, or opening it up into boot-top powder in the apron.

It seems crazy, but the Magico is actually built from 14—count 'em if you like—layers of carbon, fiberglass, and Aramid, which keeps it surprisingly rugged for such a lightweight ski. Somehow, Ski Trab managed to incorporate an Attivo progressive flex construction and an early-rise tip, too, which allows smooth, easy turn initiation in soft snow and plenty of edge grip in hard alpine conditions. The relatively soft tip follows the terrain closely to increase edge contact in rough snow, and the Duo Tech swallowtail design increases flexibility on edge and stability when the ski's flat. If you're still not satisfied, there are Attivo active shock absorbers integrated into the side of the skis to give a smoother ride and prevent damage to the internal structure of the ski, steel edges for powerful grip, and a sintered base so you can let things rip when conditions are perfect and you've got thousands of untracked feet that really need tracks put in 'em.
