Modeled after Ski Trab's top-of-the-line Gara Aero World Cup Ski, the Gara Lirace borrows similar design concepts as its game-changing older brother and brings the cost down considerably by replacing the Aero's honeycomb core with Ski Trab's proprietary LiWood core with air canals. With a weight of just 3.5 pounds per pair in the 164cm length, you'd expect the Gara Lirace to be a dream on the up, but a noodle on the descent, but thanks to the ski's 14-layer construction, the ski has a surprising amount of skiability for its weight class.
A cap construction helps to keep the weight down, while a reinforced fiber plate underfoot ensures a solid mount with your bindings. Sintered bases will withstand some abuse when you're working your way down rocky, technical lines, and the steel edges help hold your skis tight when you're making every turn count down a section of blue ice. A high module carbon ski monocoque saves on weight and provides the skis with torsional rigidity. On top of the that, Ski Trab placed carbon and fiberglass reinforcements throughout the ski to give it a more natural flex for the descent. Like all Ski Trab skis, the tips and tails integrate seamlessly with Ski Trab's skins for a bomber connection that won't slow you down in a race or when you're touring for fun.
