    for the snow ...

Bought for some extra protection on the slopes following shoulder surgery. Fits great [L, I'm 5'11, 185] snug but not restricting. Was worried backplate would feel cumbersome - it doesn't. I cut off the sleeves below the elbow as I don't need/want those pads.

      Not too bulky

I was afraid I would look like a robot in this thing. It is actually slim enough to fit underneath my tshirt. It has lots of mesh material so it breathes well. At first I thought the fit was too tight, but after a few rides I realized that the tighter, the better. As long as it zips up, you're good. I haven't had to test out the actual protection ability of any of the armor, but that's a good thing .... I certainly feel more comfortable bombing down hills, knowing that if I take a spill I have a little extra protection. I'm not an insane rider, but I don't want to break a wrist or elbow ... This is the perfect piece to cover your upper body. Just get some knee pads and you're good to go!

        Saved me some skin loss

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So I'm new to downhill. I need protection. At my age it's better safe than sorry when trying a new sport.

This saved my ass from a beating at Keystone recently. I actually got up, laughed brushed the dust off and carried on with my descent after a dive over the front of my bike. Although I'm only a newbie this did what it said on the description, if you're going harder you may need the next model up. The plastic on the shoulder got scratched from my bail but is obviously ready for more. I also noted that the rental store had these in as their standard protection so I'm happy to be using this. Now I just need a bomb proof layer to go over it as what I was wearing got shredded.

        Tools not jewels. Enjoy
