    Ride long and prosper.

The Six Six One Comp Helmet keeps your brain where it belongs: inside your skull. Riding fast means taking on risk and so requires protection, and the Comp delivers with an impact-absorbing polycarbonate and ABS shell and brain-save EPS foam liner. With plenty of venting, the Comp Helmet keeps your processor cool for pinpointing takeoffs and landings, and serves up an adjustable visor to block out the sun so you don't get blinded and end up going dome-first into a tree. The Comp's large eyeport easily accommodates goggles, and its affordable pricetag means you won't have to choose between preserving your motor skills and affording breakfast tomorrow morning.

Protect your noggin on a budget

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As a rider who spends most of the time on trails i needed a helmet for the occasional days in the bike park. This helmet has been perfect for me. It fits nice a snug thanks to the sizing charts. It also does a great job dumping heat with plenty of vents to keep you cool on the trail. I have the camo option which is probably one of the coolest pant jobs i have seen on a helmet and looks great. Finally on a big fall this is built with EPS which hardens on impact. I have crashed before in the past using this technology built into another 661 helmet and this has saved my head. If you have any questions on this or are in the market getting in Downhill/freeride feel free to reach out with any questions. I would love to get you properly protected out on the hill!

    Concussion Protector

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After seeing my friend go flying 10 feet in the air over the edge of a birm because his breaks broke, and being unresponsive for over a minute, I was happy I just got this helmet! (He was wearing a helmet like this so he was fine) I haven't had a crash in this helmet yet myself, so I will add to this review when I do. Until then, The ventilation is great for the respiratory half, but my hair will still get sweaty in it- kindof uncomfortable. The color is great and there is max visibility unless youre wearing goggles. The helmet is shaped so that the goggles strap will stay in one spot around the back. Many other helmets I have used will let the goggle strap slide around. They fit very nicely with my Fox AIRSPC goggles. That's all until I crash I guess...not looking forward to it xD

    Great Value Helmet

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this helmet for downhill riding at Snowshoe, WV. It was very comfortable and lighter than I expected. It worked well with my goggles. I got the camo color and the picture is accurate. It looks just as awesome in person. Compared to the price of other helmets, I feel like this one gives you a lot of bang for your buck. The large fits my big head well. My husband has the red helmet in a medium and he likes it, too.

Hate the D-Ring, Love the rest

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great helmet. Really really good ventilation. It is perfect for any entry level mtb downhill rider. The only downside for me at my skill level was that SOB D-Ring. That thing is so hard to use with gloves on it is insane. It is still a much better helmet than the bell sanction I destroyed, but I do miss the standard quick release clip.

    Amazing helmet all around

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been looking around for well priced helmets that are comfortable for the longest time. I got my Six Six One Comp Helmet at the beginning of this season and it has withstood everything I have thrown at it. I take it downhill, enduro racing, and into the dirt jump park. It has saved my coconut on more than one occasion and it still doesn't have any scrapes or breaking. It is a great all around helmet and I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for a great helmet at an extremely reasonable price compared to other brands!

Ride safe, and keep the rubber side down!

Awesome fits my big azz head

I have a rough time finding helmets, ruroc biggest size is too small, have had a few different brands of bike and snowboard helmets over the years hard to find a good fit especially around cheeks this fits great! Not tight not loose perfect if you have a big head haha not heavy but feels strong love it! Wish I would've bought one sooner!!

      Pretty Rad

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

provides pretty good ventilation while moving.
if you rock goggles, then it'll get a bit warm once you stop.
the price is awesome, so you don't have to worry about wether to replace it after a crash.
it feels like i could bounce my head off some rocks real hard and still be alive, so thats good right?

the two cons I've noticed are:
if you have earnings, plugs or want to put headphones in, think again. every time i put the helmet on, my plugs get pulled out. with apple earbuds, they get pushed right out of your ear no matter what. kind of a bummer.
the other con is the strap. it just sucks all around. you can't button it easy after tightening it, and for some reason its impossible to loosen it all the way with one hand.

i got the camo in medium. it fits true to size, and the color looks accurate.
