Simms designed this tough puppy for reliable performance and maximum durability, using waterproof synthetic leather and ballistic textile material for the upper and full-perimeter scratch rubber for added toughness. It lined the thing in neoprene for warmth and cushioning and gave it a 3mm Vibram Idrogrip rubber outsole for traction on slick rocks.
