Silvretta designed the Pure Freeride Binding eih 90mm Brake for backcountry skiers who don't want to sacrifice downhill performance. For comfort and natural movement while touring, Silvretta moved the pivot point 30mm behind the tip of your boot to save your precious energy. These lightweight AT bindings' two climbing positions make that final steep pitch a breeze. With maximum torsion resistance and a DIN that goes up to 12, this binding just begs for the powdery descent. The 90mm brake fits over your more rotund touring sticks.

Bottom Line: Leave the resort behind and really ski free with the Silvretta Pure Freeride Binding on your hiking skis.

Silvretta Pure

I have had Silvretta Pure bindings for several years and I love them. When my partners are getting blisters with other bindings I am blister free. The crampons for these bindings dig in far deeper than other brands. I got nervous about the possibility of broken toe pieces, so I wrote Silvretta for a spare, and they sent me a whole bag of spares. I have never needed to use one of the spares. I am a light skiier (150 lbs), but I have never had an issue with broken toe pieces using the bindings at the resort or in backcountry.

I am looking to get an inexpensive binding for my Atomic Tourguide

I am looking to get an inexpensive binding for my Atomic Tourguide super light skis. I have a pair of Silveretta 404's and they have been great. They broke 6 years ago and epozy has held the break all this time. I've wanted/needed to get new bindings and now is time. Money is a big issue.... $500 is not possible. I weight 210lbs and have been known to ski kinda aggresively... 10-15ft drops max. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Silveretta Pure FreeRide bindings?

Heel/toe release explination

By:
August 29, 2009

The writings about this say that only the heel releases, meaning there would be no lateral release (sideways). That would be really bad and dumb. In reality, when you go sideways, the wings at the toe push the heel out and to the side, so the heel exits the side of the heel piece. (Somewhat like a dynafit, only by going backwards instead of rotating).
