Down that maintains its loft and warmth even in humid, dewy, or ice-melt conditions.

The Sierra Designs Zissou 12 700-Fill DriDown 12 Degree Down Sleeping Bag keeps you warm whether you're winter camping in the Pacific Northwest, in Colorado, or in Alaska. The hydrophobic down maintains its warmth and loft when wet storms roll through and when condensation builds up in your tent throughout the night.

  • With an EN comfort rating of 12°F (an average man's comfort level), this bag is ideal for cold winter nights in below freezing temperatures
  • EN ratings are developed from procedures and testing conducted by independent organizations in the US and Europe
  • 700 fill-power goose DriDown insulation features a hydrophobic finish that enables the treated down to stay drier, loft better, and dry faster (compared to untreated down) so you're able to stay warm no matter what the weather is doing
  • Mummy-shaped bag decreases weight, cold spots, and packed size
  • A 30D ripstop nylon shell offers lightweight performance while a DWR coating supplies protection against early-morning frost
  • Ergonomic hood and footbox, zipper draft tube, and draft collar insulate your body and prevent the cold from seeping in
  • Easy-access 60-inch snag-free zipper ensures easy in-and-out
  • Collar drawcord with captured cordlock lets you cinch the collar down around your face for a snug fit
  • Includes storage and stuff sack

Is there a right-hand-zipper women's bag that will zip to this?

Kilimanjaro Sleeping Bag

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This was my bag for summiting Kimimanjaro last year. I thought the bag was perfect. I am 5'10 and decided to go with a long for extra room to pack in the damp clothing from hiking all day. The dry atmosphere and drydown material sucked all the moisture out of my clothes. I never had any issues with the bag loosing loft or staying wet. I've continued to use it over the last year down to ZERO degrees and I've been fine. Sure it wasn't perfectly toasty in Zero degrees but I was okay. The bag is light, built to last, smooth silky interior, enough chest room (in the long) to make you feel comfy and not claustrophobic, and packs down tight.

The description label is wrong: The EN Rating for Comfort is 24F and the Limit is 12F.

If you want to pay twice as much for 7oz-8oz difference in weight but really no other real advantages (I've owned both) then go for the Western Mountaineer Versatile. I'd rather spend the extra $250 difference on more fun gear. :)

Solid bag

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This is a great bag. It's comfortable, lightweight, warm, lofty, compressible, and the DriDown is great. I fully expect this bag to last through years of good use. My only complaints are that it had a YCC zipper, not YKK, so it won't mate with the majority of bags. Also, the storage sack isn't as spacious as I would like. But all in all, a great bag!

23 degree version. good bag.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I have the 23 degree version, worked great even when damp. very lofty, draft tube works excellent. a little zipper snag once in a while. Used for my job on the wasatch plateau.

Dri Down put to the test

I purchased this bag for a late fall camping trip in AZ not expecting to test out the dridown. The first night was filled with thunderstorms and torrential downpours. I was under a tarp that was setup like a lean to which needless to say did not provide full coverage from the elements. We all awoke to find the feet of our bags soaked but mine was the only one still dry on the inside. That was all the proof I needed for dridown. The bag is extremely comfortable and the draft tube insulates the zipper well.

    2nd try

I got this bag after purchasing a different Sierra Designs bag. Don't remember which one it was but it had a significantly higher fill count but this one is SO much more comfortable. I used it while camping on the beach in 50 degree weather and it was great to unzip and use as a blanket. The only problem was that it didn't unzip all the way so I couldn't completely open it up for the two of us, but I did know that would be the case beforehand. It's a great bag and I am excited to use it for backpacking this summer!

      Pretty Killer Bag

Snagged this Sierra Designs Zissou 12 700 Fill DriDown bag and love it. I am about 5'10'', went with the long, and am super stoked on how its fits. Real stoked on the dri down and some of the other sports where Sierra Designs pays close attention to detail. Packs down small and is pretty dang light too. Bottomline: get one
