Sierra Designs created the Zeta 4 Tent for budget-conscious backpackers without sacrificing functionality, comfort, or ease of use. The tent’s Tunnel Dome design combines the convenience of freestanding tents with the spacious interior of a tunnel tent; with a 50-in peak height, there’s plenty of room to sit up. A panorama window allows you to enjoy the view, and the dye-free optic white canopy brightens up the interior space. Setup is a breeze thanks to the Jake’s Foot feature at the corners that allows for easy attachment of poles, rain fly, and footprint. Swivel Hubs on the poles further speed setup, along with ball- cap assembly on the poles and color-coding on the front door. When the weather turns south, the bathtub floor and included fly seal out wetness so you and your gear stay dry.

Bottom Line: A value-packed tent that more than meets your needs on the trail.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Amazing Tent and Value

I was looking for a durable tent for backpacking with the kids. I needed something larger (4 man), but as light and cost-effective as possible. It also needs to take lots of abuse.

I've looked at a LOT of tents and this is one of the best for the money (I got it off Steep and Cheap for a great deal) out there. It's about the same size as the Big Agnes Copper Spur - and while it weights about 2 pounds more, it's only 1/4 the price!

I've had it out in the sun and rain and it performed perfectly in both. The following are specific features I like.
- The pole design provides lots of crossing points and nearly vertical walls.
- The Jake's Foot attachments really do work. It allows the connection of the footprint, pole and fly in an easy/quick to use method. I haven't ever used it before, but really like it.
- The vertical door entry is very convenient.
- The window at the front of the fly makes checking out the weather especially easy.

Overall, this tent is tough to beat at the value. The Copper Spur may be lighter, but I'd buy this one again - especially for my use.

Took the Zeta out on the Colorado River. It held up great and was an absolute palace for my wife and I.

It is always great to have an extra large tent for 2 people. The wife and I only travel with 3 person tents, that gives us enough room to store some of our gear inside with us

good tent for the $150 its offered for on SAC from time to time. functions as advertised. just slightly less than two pounds and $37.50 per person. decent. for the full retail price, there are much better tents out there. i think the vestibule is small for a four man.

Nope - this does not come with a footprint. One is available for about $45 at other sites - I found one at Amazon.

I would not think so. I have never purchased a tent that came with one, without it being front and center in its description. I was unable to locate one here, but Sierra Designs has one here

Its perfect for me and my partner we both tall so this tent is perfect for us it is heavy duty yet pretty light light for what you get. I reccomend getting the footprint also. There wasn't even moisture on it after we took down the tent days after. The. Interior is big enough to sit in and large enough for all you belongings
