Description

Lightweight weather protection for the extra-tall backpacker.

Designed to be lightweight and extra-long for taller hikers, the Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2 XL Tent is for those looking to shave a few pounds from their kit. Built with Jake's Foot pole-attachment tech, this easy-does-it rambler sets up in a jiff and offers worry-free protection from the elements and critters without weighing you down during the day.
  • Longer floor length perfect for taller backpackers or for those looking to store more gear inside
  • Waterproof fly and floor fabric feature fully taped, PVC-free seams for added protection from rainstorms and soggy weather
  • Superseal floor tech combines the benefits of catenary and bathtub floors by featuring both raised and taped seams for a tighter pitch and better protection
  • DAC NSL Featherlite poles are made with less phosphoric and nitric acid for a greener tent pole, and they feature a wider diameter with a thinner wall to add strength and save weight
  • Jake's Foot pole attachment utilizes a ball and socket design to keep the pole end in place during setup and easily pops out for take-down
  • Mesh wall panels increase airflow to decrease condensation and stuffiness
  • Internal storage pockets keep your flashlight, maps, and trail wares accessible
  • Gear-loft loops enable you to hang your headlamp when it gets dark
  • Fast-pitch compatible; just carry the poles, fly, and footprint to save weight
  • Footprint available separately

Why in world don't they design the rain fly to cover the whole tent?!?!? Notice how high up the rain fly sits? During a rain storm, the base eventually will be flooded with water.... why do they do this?!?!?!?! aaaarg...

Lightweight and small packed size!

I am 6'2" and it is a tight and cozy fit for two people. It does the job while being light and small. Some room for gear inside but not too much. Great design overall!

Highly..Highly recommend for tall individuals

Fantastic tent... Went on a recent Scout camp out and used the tent for the first time. Set-up was fast and easy. The tent's 93" length was more then perfect for my 6'4" size. I used my ultra lite mesh cot with a Big Agnes Lost Dog bag and air core mattress and had one of the best night of sleep I have had in the out doors in a long time. The width of the tent was more the adequate so that I had enough room to sit down and get up from the cot. The roof clearence is enough that I can sit up in my cot (4" above the floor) and not touch the tent roof. First night I used the rain fly and opened the door from the top and got a nice breeze. The second night I left the rain fly off and enjoyed the night sky. Great tent and it will be going with me to Philmont.

I just bought this tent and have not actually got to use it yet but I have put it up a couple of times to check it out and noticed that there are no vents in the fly. The only thing that I saw that might work to vent is that the front door has a double zipper so you can open the top a little where the fly is overlapping the door. I am hoping this will be adequate ventilation because from what I have seen so far I really love the tent, it's easy to put up and is super light and has the leg room I need. Hope this helps.

No vents in the fly other than the door. However the design of the tent is all mesh inside other than the fly that goes over top.
