Stuff the Sierra Designs Summit Sack into its own stuff sack, stash it in your carry on and fly home with a full-fledged backpack that weighs only twelve ounces. This is the ideal stash-and-go pack for quick trips up the mountains when you only need the bare essentials. Despite its feathery-light design and highly-packable design this bag accepts a hydration reservoir, rocks a full shoulder and waist harness, and features daisy chain attachments to hang gear on the outside.

It's with me when I go.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I carry an emergency fun kit with me when I travel, and it fits in the door compartment of my truck. I have a packable jacket, some trail shoes, a pair of socks, some shorts, a shirt, and now this pack. I was in the market for a day/overnight pack and this was a pretty good purchase.

Not even remotely worth the price

OK, the pack admittedly has a couple of nice features with the lightly padded shoulder straps and a sternum strap. However, as a super-light pack that you might put in your luggage for day-hiking on a vacation, it's the size of a Nerf football. The single exterior zipper pocket is only large enough for car keys or maybe a cell phone, but the fabric is so thin you almost can see the items. For $20 or at 2/3 the bundled size, this would be a great occasional pack - it's just not a good value at this price point though.

What would be the torso size?

Responded on

I cannot seem to locate a torso size, which may be due to the fact that the pack is designed with a "one size fits all" construction, so it is meant to accommodate all but the most extreme torso sizes, both large and small. If you happen to stumble upon the measurement you're looking for, please be sure to post it, but as of right now, I cannot seem to locate any such measurement.

So Lighweight!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great for day hikes. Stores all my stuff easily then bundles up to this great little bundle when not in use. I love it. ( Bought it for my husband but he didn't like the color so it's mine all mine now.)

Perfect!

Super cool little pack! I use this for dayhikes when I am backpacking. Perfect for bringing an extra layer, water, and snacks.

Great for river trips

I have used this for multi day river trips and it is great.

Fits my sleeping bag and some clothes and when it is time for that side canyon hike I have a sweet pack to carry my water.

Sweet

This pack comes in its own stuff sack, which is super small considering the size of this pack! 1300 CU inches fits my hammock, clothes line, tent stakes, knives, firestarter (Lighter, striker). Also I stuff it with my extra clothes, socks etc with plenty of extra room. Overall it may not seem the most durable material it holds up well against the daily backpacking trip.
