The Sierra Designs Night Glow Attic is a new innovation in tent storage and lighting. Taking the portable attic and adding a red hue light with a 10-12 hour battery, Sierra Designs tacks a few hours on to your day. Now you can go to sleep late, read in the evening, or get up early without stressing about overusing your headlamp. You can store your drying socks, books, snacks, or whatever on top of the attic. Going out for a midnight jaunt? Leave the Night Glow's light on so you can find your tent later. The Night Glow attic is not compatible with the Mach 1, Hyperlight AST, Hyperlight 3, Light Year, Flashlight, Bedouin 8, Mothership, and Solemente tents.
Bottom Line: Set your tent aglow, without the discomfort of flames.

Lots of Light, but not at Height

Pros: Simple design, lightweight, easy to find mantles. When operating at lower elevations this thing puts out some intense white lights. Startup is easy and reliable.
Cons: Despite some trouble shooting and tinkering I couldn't get mine to put out more than a matchstick worth of light above 9,000ft. Not sure if this is typical of all units or just mine. Flame up occurred very easily with only minor movement. When you use the lantern you'll need to keep it on a stationary level surface - very small amounts of tilt will cause the mantle to become unstable and the unit to flame up.
