Description

A pant for travel, trail, or in town.

The lightweight and water-resistant Sierra Designs Men’s Microlight 2 Pant blocks wind and moisture on in-town bike commutes and light rain on long day hikes. It's an ideal layer for traipsing around the globe because it is versatile, yet it packs down small in the included stuff sack. The elasticized waistband lets you easily slide the MicroLight on over other layers and then cinch it tight with the drawcord adjustment. You can stash your subway change or an energy bar in the two zippered handwarmer pockets or stuff your hands in when the cold wind gets to you. It's so small, you shouldn't ever leave home without it.

Little Dissapointed

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these for work and play. I work in corn fields and they can get pretty wet in the morning and muggy later on.
Pros: Very packable, Light weight, durable, breathable

Cons: let too much water in

These pants are not that water resistant, if you walk around with them being wet after a little while the water seems to force its way in and get you wet. They do dry out very quickly however. I should have found a more water resistant pant for what I do.

Ultra Light and Super Compact...

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I pack these pants every time I hit the bike trails. These pants are super compact and come with a small pouch to collapse them in. Great pants at a great price. I even pack them on business trips when I see a forecast for rain.

Does what it says.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Great pants for rain, lightweight and easy to store in the provided stuff sack. They aren't the most comfortable pants or the most breathable but they are easy to put on and easy to forget about when they are stuffed in your pack. I use them only when it is raining or I'm walking through wet, damp areas.

What is the difference between size L and L/REG ?

Responded on

There is actually no difference in size between the L and L/Reg in the Sierra Designs Microlight 2 Pant. The "/Reg" sizes are last years models back when SD was offering this pant in different lengths in each waist size. The current L should fit exactly the same as last year's L/Reg.
