Lazer 30 Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Synthetic

Sierra Designs filled the Men's Lazer 30 Degree Synthetic Sleeping Bag with PrimaLoft Eco recycled insulation and added Flex sidewalls for more comfort. Not every person sleeps on their back with hands at their sides, so Sierra Designs' Flex system expands and contracts to let you move around freely without creating cold-air pockets. Overlapped baffled construction eliminates cold-spots on the seams, and the footbox vent lets you cool off during warmer tent-bound nights. The Lazer Sleeping Bag makes its low two-pound weight thanks to ultralight materials and a half-length zipper.

Bottom Line: The Sierra Designs Lazer Sleeping Bag reduces the claustrophobic feeling of camping.

I Hate This Bag

I got the Lazer because the weight is great and I hike in a damp area (the Cascades). But the bag is so narrow that it is extremely uncomfortable. I am 5-10 and 210 pounds, a mens size 46R. This bag shaves weight for sure, but if you have an athletic build, its like being in a strait jacket. Side-sleeping was impossible. If you are skinny, sleep on your back, or dont mind a body-hugging fit, then you might be ok with the Lazer. There is no way I could wear an extra layer other than tight longies to sleep in this bag. The foot vent was great- loved it- and the half-zip was fine. Too bad about the overall dimensions.

I would argue there're various degrees of being 'athletic'!
At 210 lbs/5'10" you probably eat double or triple so it's no wonder you require a double sleeping bag :)
Wasn't the whole purpose of lifting those weights to make it so you don't fit in doorways? :) Here's the other side of the coin for ya

Good All Around Bag

By:

This is a really good sleeping bag. I have used it anywhere from hot summer nights all the way down into the low thirties with a few layers. The bag is light, compacts small, and with the stretch sides very comfertable to sleep in. I like the jacket hood design, and find it to be warmer than typicle sleeping bag hoods. I thought that I would not like the half zip, but have found that it to be adequate when used with the foot zip. I have used this bag quite a bit over the past year, and have found it to hold up well. After repeated compressions the insulation has not shifted, and the bag is just as warm as the day I bought it. I would recomend this sleeping bag to anyone looking for a good 3 season bag.
