Don't be afraid to crawl into the belly of this beast—the Sierra Designs Asp 2-Person, 3-season Tent looks reptilian, but it's backpacker friendly. The Asp's two oversized doors could swallow a tiger, and they make midnight calls-of-nature for either occupant a breeze. Pitching the Asp is a cinch as well, thanks to Sierra Designs' Quick Pitch Swivel Hub—you simply unfurl the poles, pull the tent up and clip it in place with the RCT Swift Clips. The Reverse Combi design gives you more room to move, and if you really want to unleash the snake look of the ASP 2, you can use a pair of trekking poles to prop up a “yawning” awning.

Bottom Line: The Sierra Designs Asp gives you lightweight 3-season packability without the bite of missing features.

i picked this tent up off steepandcheap last fall and have no complaints with probably 15 nights in it. the setup is quick and easy, it fits two comfortably, and the vestibule space is fantastic. also, the main fly opening has zippers on each side and can open from the top or bottom. i know this sounds a little weird, but in practice it's really nice. what separates this tent from the rest of the lightweight/2person/3season tents is how well it sets up shelter-style (groundtarp/poles/fly). it makes for a far roomier experience, and has kept me dry under rain and snow. the only reason i would bring the actual tent body is to keep out bugs. one thing to keep in mind is that on steepandcheap the groundtarp was included, while here it'll cost extra.

What is the difference between 2 season tents and 3 season tents?

The difference between the number of seasons typically relates to the structural strength of the tent... can it handle a snow load, will it tolerate wind, etc... summer tents also tend to have larger mesh areas to deal with night time heat. Hope that helps

This tent has it all! Easy setup(color coding), really comfortable and roomy for 2 persons(2 doors and vestibules), nice design, good comfort-weight ratio, excellent ventilation... I used the tent just for a weekend trekking in the Rila mountain(Bulgaria)and one of the nights it was raining cats and dogs for 5-6 hours without a single drop inside!!! The only drawback noticed so far is the sack(it's bigger than needed and there are no compression straps)- not a big deal.
