If mountain biking were easy, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun, but it would also be a lot gentler on your body and your gear. Beating ourselves and our stuff up is the price we pay for fun, though, so we can seriously appreciated a durable and exquisitely comfortable shoe like the Sidi Sun. With a carbon composite sole that balances power and flex and last designed exclusively for a woman's foot, the Sun is made to be ridden long and hard, whether you're cruising singletrack or getting after it in cyclocross races.

Fit and pedal power tend to be treated separately, but they're really two sides of the same coin. The Sun features a Lucido synthetic upper, which conforms to your foot without stretching and fights off snags, scrapes, and scratches, so the fit will stay perfect. Since your foot won't slop around—three hook-and-loop straps helps see to that—you'll be able to put more power into the pedals, waste less energy, and ride faster. Sidi outfitted the upper with tons of mesh ventilation panels to fight off sweat and heat, and included rubber sole lugs to save your cleats and provide traction on slick ground. The Sun's an all-weather shoe, though, and even has a spot where you can attach winter toe spikes, if you're looking for extra grip on snowy or icy trails.

  • Lucido synthetic leather upper
  • Nylon mesh ventilation panels
  • Three hook-and-loop straps
  • Carbon composite sole
  • Rubber sole lugs
  • Two-hole MTB cleat compatibility
  • Available winter toe spikes

Here's what others have to say...

Wife loves them!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

Followed the Sidi sizing recommendation, and they fit like a glove. She wears a 10 in a running shoe, and the 43 fit perfect. My wife says they fit like no other shoe she has ever worn. Very high quality, and they perform great!

Go up half a size

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs small

I love my Sidi Genius 5 road shoes and decided to upgrade my indoor cycling shoes to the Sidi Sun. I initially ordered the same size as my road shoes, but had to return them for the next half size up. Good thing Backcountry has really quick and convenient returns. One thing I did notice was that the slots on the bottom on the shoe are placed a bit differently than the Genius... maybe a bit further away from to the balls of the foot, which makes smooth circles/power transfer a little wonky. This could be due to the fact that they are meant to be mtb shoes. Otherwise, they are really comfy, easy to adjust and breathable.

Made just for me!

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

These fit like a dream! First time biker and doubt I will buy another pair.

First shoe and still rockin' them.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

This was the first pair of shoes that I bought for mountain biking about 5 years ago, an older version than what is available here. Still have them and I have zero complaints with them. I haven't tried many other shoes, but have been super happy with these and the way they have held up. These have taken me from beginner to intermediate on my mountain bike....great shoes!

Great MTB Shoes!

I love these MTB shoes. I typically take a 7 1/2 or 38. The size chart said to order a 39.5?? I ordered the 39 and they fit perfect.

Only problem is I had to call after I ordered on-line. Apparently they were put on hold for some unknown reason. Once they were taken off hold, I got them in two days. Oh, and the rep on the phone was EXTREMELY RUDE for no reason. I was nice all the way even though I had been waiting too long to get the shoes. Just asked a few questions that apparently was annoying to him. Like, "are we talking about the same order?" because I didn't understand why these would be on hold and my husband orders from backcountry quite often. His response was, "Well, yah, what other order would I be talking about!?" And, that wasn't all from him:( I was upset when I got off the phone but didn't want him to intentionally mess up my order so I was really nice even though I was treated VERY poorly!!!!!! Very disappointing from a Backcountry employee!!
