Description

Float plus fit equals comfort.

Speedplay and Sidi, together at last. This Sidi Genius 6.6 Carbon Speedplay Shoes sport the all-new carbon fiber Speedplay-specific sole. The sole is Speedplay-approved, and will save you nearly a quarter-pound, and three millimeters of stack height compared to using adapters. As if that wasn't enough reason to celebrate, Sidi has also redesigned the heel retention system to provide a more comfortable, adjustable, and secure fit.

  • High Security Velcro on the straps is just like the Velcro you love, but way beefier for a true locked-in feeling in high-torque situations
  • Easy-to-use caliper buckle makes on-the-fly adjustments simple and effective
  • Padded tongue and Soft Instep Closure System make long days more comfortable
  • Replaceable heel pad provides traction off the bike

Damn good shoe! I've been racing bicycles since I was 18 y/o. I'm now 47 y/o. I started out using specialized shoes. It's very hard for me to make a move to a new brand of shoes. I went to Sidi in 1996. Since this time, my feet have been extremely comfortable. I can stay in these shoes and on the bike for hours with out developing a hot spot, heel slippage, numbness in the toes, or any other annoying sensation. They are warm when needed and cool when needed. The Sidi 6.6 Carbon Speedplay shoes are significantly lighter than the Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes. The roomy toe box creates a long comfortable wear. The heel box provides an incredibly stable sensation around the heel leaving all of your concentration for the sprints and hard climbing vs. worrying about power transfer to the pedal due to heel slippage. As far as credit to my shoe critique, I've been the Arizona state road race champion, 40k time trial champion, and hill climb champion in the Cat. 3 Div. In 1991, I won the Triathlon Long Course Championships Amateur Div. at the Texas Hill Country Triathlon and in Oct. of 1991, I competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships. Thanks for a great shoe Sidi, and thanks for a great deal Backcountry!

Every cyclist with Speedplay pedals should buy these shoes. Eliminating the adapter makes for a much more comfortable interface with the pedals. However, please remember to order the Speedplay protective shim. It does not come with the pedals and the cleat will damage the carbon soles without it.
