Dry feet are happy feet.
While the Sidi Men's Breeze Rain Shoe technically falls under the "mountain bike" category, most riders we know would cringe at the idea of rolling through their coveted local trails in the rain. That said, our inner 'cross racer and gravel adventurer gets more than geeked at the idea of a lugged, trail-worthy sole attached to a weatherproof upper and a Rain-Tex membrane that fends off all manner of mud, rain, wind, and general unhappy nature. Being able to saunter up to the line on a drizzly, muddy day with these beauties confidently protecting your feet while the competition faces an hour of heavy shoes and squishy discomfort is a marginal gain we can definitely get on board with.
The Breeze Rain incorporates a traditional ratcheting buckle at the top and hook-and-loop straps across the mid- and forefoot for a customized, comfortable fit that's easily adjustable on the fly. Sidi adds in an extended ankle cuff with a hook-and-loop closure for extra protection from errant precipitation and muck.
Sidi utilizes its nylon composite MTB Competition outsole to create a stable, solid pedaling platform that consistently transfers valuable watts from your feet to the pedals. A molded, reinforced heel cup contributes to efficiency by locking your heel in place to reduce power-sapping heel slippage whether you're cranking on the pedals or digging in on a steep run-up. For days when digging in requires even more than lugs, the Breeze's sole also accommodates two toe spikes for added traction.

Typical Sidi Quality
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
These do run slightly large (size 47) however they fit more narrow than their road shoes (Genius 6.6 and Wire). This is most likely due to less stretch in the heavier shoe material. Regretfully I had to return them due to the narrow fit issue. Otherwise they are a really well built and designed shoe.
Great shoe... only two issues (minor)
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 46
For this price, this is a fantastic value.
If paying full MSRP I'd have two gripes: 1. heel cup doesn't hold the foot in place as well as I'd like. 2. The neoprene ankle should go a half inch higher.
I bought a size up so I can fit large wool socks to make these my fall/winter shoe.
I've ridden in weather from 60' rain down to mornings below freezing. I'm VERY happy I bought these.
I was SOOOO tired of using shoe covers; and having bad results. In addition; in the rain, these are great. So glad to keep my feet dry without having to resort to shoe covers again.
Warm and useful
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 45
These are great rain shoes, as advertised. My only minor quibble would be that they are not that tight at the top velcro strap: This can let some water in, although it was not a major issue as water can leak in here via your socks or tights in significant rain anyway. But I might prefer the shoe to be slightly higher. However, the tradeoff here might be comfort, as I have worn some winter shoes that are higher and tighter and they can be hard on the ankles; while these Sidis are very comfy.
The shoes are warm too. I definitely view this as an advantage: For example I wore these on a night ride purely for the warmth of the fleecy footbed and the wind-resistance. However, they might be too warm in summer conditions. But as a general rule I would not wear these shoes unless I am also wearing tights or leg warmers, so the warmth is welcome.
These are a very useful item in my cycling wardrobe, that bridges the gap to a true winter shoe, and a good value. I usually wear 44 but bought 45 in order to fit a thicker sock, and the fit is great.
