Description

Don't blame your lack of XC domination on your XTR wheels, or they might race without you.

Ohhh, Mommy. The tubeless, disc-specific Shimano XTR M975 Wheelset is scandalously light, super stiff, and looks supremely sexy blazing across the finish line of a cross-country racecourse. Anodized Scandium allows the rim walls to get fashion-model thin without sacrificing strength, and the titanium rear freehub body plays a similar role in the XTR Wheelset's 1525-gram weight. Centerlock disc rotor mounts provide a quick-changing system that's also extremely responsive due to the many points of contact. Shimano even tosses in a bit of XTR jewelry by including quick-release skewers with every wheelset package.

Wheels

I am sure everyone by reading the specs it is clear Shimano has spared no resources in designing there top of the line XTR components, and the XTR wheelset is no different. The wheelset boasts a quiver of engineering highlights, but to be honest it's all about the ride. The efficiency of these wheels is right up there with perpetual motion, no joke, the smooth ride, fused with lateral stability makes these wheels treat. I ride them on my all-mountain, rig, but if your a tad on the aggressive side, it would be wise to step to the XT wheels. But for those XC enthusiast, and sun valley ribbon runners this is the tip of the sword.

are you running these single speed? I have a Rig and have been looking at this wheelset, but am concerned about durability as I'm pretty rough on my bike. The price seems great though!

Huck n Roll does not carry the Replacement parts for these wheels but any Shimano Dealer (Just about any Shop) can order the spokes for you.

Perfect for 2+ yrs and counting

I've been riding & racing these XTR wheels for almost 3 years now and have yet knock a wheel out of true, or have any problems with them. I ride 'em hard (175 lbs, 5.5" travel bike) with lots of rock gardens and smaller jumps & drops. They're light, fast, and handle extremely well. Zero complaints.

Fantastic Hoops

Love these wheels! It's a toss up between these and the Mavic Crossmax SLRs. These wheels are a little lower profile since they aren't as flashy. Also they are more vertically compliant than the SLRs. Just as stiff though when you're cranking out of the saddle. I chose these over the SLRs for the BC Bike race and was not dissapointed since they were super comfy over the duration of the week.

What is the designation of the build? It looks like cross 3. Lacing? The build and lacing should be included in the description of ALL wheelsets.

This is a straight pull two cross lacing pattern.
