The Shimano XTR Hydraulic Disc Brake Calipers provide precise stopping power for all XTR rotors in a compact, lightweight unit. Spring clips allow easy pad removal for compound changes or replacement, and forged mono-body construction increases stiffness for better modulation. Available in Post-type and International A-Type mount.*Rotors, hoses and levers sold separately.

1. Same thing, just on different bike sites.2. 140mm or 160mm Avid will probably work unless you can find Shimano from previous years.3. Would be cool, but no.4. brake lines are cheap. Fittings/Volume can be specific. Buy the right lines.5. Yes, as long as you get the right size.

They will work with newer XT hydraulic levers. You have to check Shimano's website though as they made some changes a few years ago. I do not think the early hydraulics (XT or XTR) are compatible with the newer calipers.

if these come with the levers like it say in the product title then yes the hoses, tubes, aka housing comes with it. Just noticed the description says this is only the caliper so not levers, or hoses.

only need adapters if you don't have disc brake mounts on the frame of your bike. You also need a disc brake compatible hub, disc rotor and disc levers.
