I've got Crank Bros Mallet II pedals, and the cleats are SPD. Will the cleats work with these shoes?

Best Answer

This shoe will work with any SPD style Cleat

This shoe is fantastic. I have worn Shimano shoes (road and mtb) for 18yrs and these are the best yet. I love the stiffness of the carbon sole and the range of adjustment the rachet buckle gives you. If Shimano shoes fit your feet, you will love this shoe...

    Stiff as a Board

After owning a pair of Shimano shoes for 14 years I finally decided to get a new pair. After riding in these for a few weeks I can honestly write a review worth reading. First of all, these shoes are stiff. Not like stiff drink stiff, but like stiff as a board stiff. They put the power down right where you need it. The ground. When I got out of the saddle and let it rip, these shoes held up to the most demanding of rides. The buckle works flawlessly and they fit perfect. I even got the same size I wore 14 years ago, and the sizing did not change a bit. So if you are looking for a great shoe for an impeccable price, these are the answer to your prayers. Just don't drink and ride.

Nice shoe, but is the toe spike removable - not just replaceable...can I put a bolt or plug of some sort into the toe spike hole?

YES. Go to your local soccer store. The shoes use the same cleats as soccer shoes, and you can get shorty cleats.
