Description

Got a wide bottom bracket shell? Get a wider bottom bracket and crank spindle.

Shimano designed the Saint FC-M815-1 Crankset for the increasing number of downhill and freeride bikes with wider bottom bracket shells. Made for 83mm bottom brackets and 57.5mm chainlines, this crankset works with a single chainring and bashguard configuration. Available chainrings include 34, 36, 38, 41, and 42T. Any four-arm 104mm BCD bashguard will fit. The included SM-BB80 bottom bracket features cups with longer threads so it will comply with any aftermarket chain guide system.

What can be said about this crank that hasn't already been said? It's super strong like all of the Saint parts, but is also fairly light. I was impressed with this crank out of the box but even more impressed after riding it. The machining and attention to detail is top notch. The crank is also super stiff and has a ton of ankle clearance. If you are looking for a bombproof DH crank this is it!

My husband previously had the Saint 805's. He went with these 815's as part of his bike's liposuction. A good bit lighter yet every bit as strong and very stiff. The specs indicate 34t and up chain ring compatibility, but he's running a 30t without issue. Bottom bracket and chain ring bolts are bling gold.

I came to these Saint cranks from the previous design of the Saint Crank. It thought aside from the subtle graphics on the "old" saint, that they were perfect. The newest rendition of the Saint cranks is better. Better graphics, lighter weight, dare i say STIFFER?!

These are super easy to set up on the bike. It is nice that the cranks come without chainrings becuase then you aren't stuck with what comes on it. Also the Torx bolts for the chainring bolts are a nice clean touch. I have these cranks on 3 bikes.
