Description

Built for speed.

Shimano Dura-Ace has always been the stuff of discerning cyclists. Whether for its lightness, bearing quality, or for its lustworthy finish, Dura-Ace inspires to make you a believer in the old aphorism, "you get what you pay for." The latest in the SPD SL pedal lineage, the Dura-Ace PD-7900 Pedals forego aluminum for the main body, instead relying on a long fiber carbon composite structure. The net result is a pedal that performs like you'd expect, while being lighter than any pedal that they've ever produced.

This weight savings is one of the most interesting aspects of the ripple effect from Look and Time introducing their super lightweight carbon bodied and sprung Keo and Iclic pedals. While they're both still lighter than the PD-7900 Pedals, Shimano goods have always been known more for their performance and durability anyhow. Now, Shimano has narrowed the gap by 30 grams or so, and these still deliver the same blissful retention and instant release that we've grown accustom to with our older Dura-Ace pedals. So while differences in grams are easy to understand, the fit and feel of riding on Dura-Ace Pedals is more difficult to differentiate. Let's just say that this new weight savings is like the proverbial cherry on top. And we already had the desert.

The carbon composite pedal body is molded onto a machined aluminum sleeve that houses the three bearings in each pedal that ensure a perfectly smooth interface with the stainless steel spindle. The new pedals retain the replaceable stainless steel wear plate that sits atop the pedal body, and it supports the SPD SL cleat for maximum lateral stability and allows a hard surface for your cleat to float against for efficient bio-mechanics.

The Shimano Dura-Ace 10-Speed PD-7900 Pedals are Carbon and come with a set of cleats and mounting hardware. As always, the retention preload is adjustable to allow you to dial in the perfect entry and release tension.

I love these pedals. These are the things that make it one of the most superior pedals available:
Super secure feel when clipped in
Huge platform to feel extremely stable on the pedals
Cleat design that doesn't wear out very fast
Lightweight
Durable
Looks so bad-ass!
It's Dura-Ace!

Great pedals that are light, stiff and have a great feel on your shoe! They will also last you a long time because they don't wear as bad as other pedals.

What I love most about these pedals is how light weight they are and the security it gives your foot while riding. I highly recommend!
