Shimano is so spare in their use of carbon fiber that whenever we see it we really notice it. Here's an instance of just that -- the Shimano Dura-Ace BL-TT79 Brake Levers, aka "reverse levers" for your aero bars. The blades are made from the same deep charcoal color carbon you get on the 7900 STI Levers, giving them a stealthy look while reducing weight.

The levers are elegant in their simplicity. They have a whopping four pieces total: Besides the blade assembly it's comprised of an expander bolt, a "fixed shoe and segment spring" the bolt feeds into, and a grip adjusting bolt that alters the reach of the lever blade.

The Shimano Dura-Ace BL-TT79 Brake Levers come as a set -- left and right. Please note that these are intended for use with the Dura-Ace 7900 mechanical group (i.e. not Di2), and they pull cable at a rate specific to Dura-Ace BR-7900 brake calipers.

  • Grip adjustment bolt allows rider-specific lever travel
