Next stop: pro team contracts.

Weight? Comfort? Looks?  The SLR Team Edition has it all. Found under more riders in the pro peloton than any other saddle, the Selle Italia SLR Team Edition Saddle has been a choice of top riders for years for good reason. Whether its on the slopes of the Col du Mont Cenis or at your local Grand Fondo, the classy black and white finish of the SLR Team Edition will not go unnoticed.

This SLR Team Edition Saddle uses braided, long-fiber carbon rails to save weight and give it a wicked 21st century look. The rails aren't alone in using carbon fiber. The injection molded shell is made of 30% carbon as well. The self-modeling Perfect Fit foam padding is lightweight and offers enough support without leaving your soft parts feeling pressure from a too-soft nose.

The carbon fiber rails are plenty strong and are definitely lighter than steel or titanium. They do take, however, a bit more care when setting them up. The rails are designed to withstand loads over the entirety of the rails, not take extreme force in extremely small sections. This is to say, that as strong as they are, the rails can be damaged by excessive seat post clamping force. Selle Italia recommends going by the seat post manufacturer's recommendations in terms of maximum clamping torque. If you can't find these, or if they don't exist, Selle Italia says no more than 8Nm of force.

The SLR Team Edition Saddle is available with a White Lorica cover with red accents. It is 131mm wide and 275mm long. Selle Italia vouches for the fact that it's tough enough for both road and off-road usage.
