Stash adventure racing or mountain-bike trail maps in the Sea To Summit Waterproof Map Case and avoid getting skunked by rain-soaked and no-longer-readable directions. This PVC case’s roll top won’t let water in, and the UV-stable fabric won’t turn yellow after a season of sun exposure. Adjust the neck strap and attach this map case to your handle bars or backpack.

Bottom Line: Protect your plans.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Expensive ZipLock Bag

By:
October 7, 2009

It is a good piece of gear if you have the money for it, but seriously, a zip-lock freezer bag could do the same job for like 1/10th the price. This is a little more handy, and doesn't have the name in the middle.

Burlier than a Ziploc.

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I use this in my snowmobile to keep the registration dry, as well as a couple spark plugs. I initially used ziploc bags, but after being bagged around with tools, bungee straps, etc. the bags ended up ripping and my things getting wet. For the price, this is good for my purpose, is really tough, and more waterproof. there's no getting this thing open unless you physically take it out and open it.

Highly valued gear during backcountry canoeing in MN and CAN!!

By:
August 5, 2009

Just returned from 6 nights canoeing in the Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Ontario, Canada's Quetico Provincial Park. Using both sides, the map case was large enough to hold a day's worth of maps and small enough to be easily managed. With taking the boat in and out of the water during portages, the strap was sufficiently long enough and comfortable around my neck. Opening the case each evening was simple and the velcro made re-sealing a breeze. Canoeing with two 13-year olds all week, there was PLENTY of water in my boat...but my maps were always dry! This piece of gear NEVER LET ME DOWN!
