Why We Like The Ultralight Sleeping Pad

When you're covering multiple miles a day on your backpacking trip, you need a comfortable sleeping surface to recover on, but you also don't want to be burdened with excess weight and bulk. Luckily, Sea To Summit has you covered with the Ultralight Sleeping Pad. This summer backpacking pad is ultralight (as the name suggests) and packs up extremely small for easy storage and carrying in your stuff-to-the-brim pack.

Air Sprung cells evenly distribute pressure so the pad conforms to your body for a comfier feel than traditional baffle construction. Tough nylon fabric won't get shredded when you're sleeping on rough, rocky surfaces. The multi-function valve has a one-way valve to make inflation easier, and it has a button you can press to slowly release air for fine-tuned comfort. When you have to pack up in a hurry, a rapid air dump port lets you deflate quickly. It also comes with a stuff sack for convenient storage and a repair kit so you can fix tears in the field when you accidentally slice your pad open while cutting avocados in your tent.

Great pad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light, compact, and comfortable. Took it out for a late fall backpacking trip in the desert for its first adventure and slept great.

From the BWCA to Isle Royale

With +30 miles of portaging and paddling, I wanted something light, and this did the trick. Same for Isle Royale, hiking 21 miles and I never worried about getting a decent night’s sleep. I’m 170 lbs and 5’11”, and the Regular mat works great. I’m most surprised by its durability.

Ultralight Air sleeping mat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this mat! I'm a 5'0" female backpacking guide and have to carry extra gear for the group. I was looking for a lightweight sleeping mat to go with my quilt in an effort to lighten my personal items. It's comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mat is currently my primary bed. I am completely impressed with how comfortable it is for how small it packs down. Also I love the technology of the stuff sack that also blows up the mat.

Not durable

I took this on a 5 day backpacking trip. It was ok the first night and kept me off the ground, but it had a slow leak the next 3 nights and I had to re-inflate it during the night. I’ve searched for a puncture with no luck, which has me wondering if it’s a valve issue. I had my last pad for 7 years so I was surprised this only lasted 1 night.
