Trek TkI Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Down

The Sea to Summit Trek TkI Sleeping Bag delivers traditional comfort and value without a traditional design approach. Its unique design and thoughtful features provide you with maximum versatility for your backcountry adventures without having to break the bank. Its 30 degree rating makes it perfect for spring and fall camping and the two way full-length side zipper and secondary zipper offer ventilation and allow the Trek to be used as a quilt when fully unzipped on hot summer nights.

In the spring and fall when temperatures can drop a little low, the vertical baffles over the chest prevent the down from migrating to keep your core warm while the hood and oversized draft tube retain your body heat. The Ultra-Dry Down that Sea to Summit stuffs the bag with retains its lofty warmth when you camp in moisture-riddled climates so you can take the Trek on all of your fair weather adventures.

Dad Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I personally love this bag. It reminds me of a NorthFace sleeping bag my dad gave that I had to throw away because I used it so much and was from the 80's. So this is not an objective review at all.

Trek Down Sleeping Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the new sleeping bad for the 6 day OTLHT backpacking trip after a cold front was predicted. It arrived in time and just as advertised it was small and fit perfect in my backpack. I stayed nice and warm with plenty of room. I would buy the same backpack again. It was a great choice.

The bag I've always needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag is great, it is super comfortable, is relatively roomy and packs very well. The fabric inside is very comfortable as well. Great bag.

Fantastically comfortable bag! It’s cut

Fantastically comfortable bag! It’s cut more generously than many mummy bags, making it maybe better for bigger folks. Warmth is very good, and the foot box is big enough for bigger feet or pointed toes without compressing the insulation

Very Dissapointed

I was looking for a quality 3 season bag and settled on the Trek TK2 after trying the marmot sawtooth and mountain hardwear bishop pass. I really wish I never bothered with this sleeping bag, I had a suspicion that the seams wouldn't hold up and I was right. After 3 days of use the down has started escaping through a few seems in the hood, one seem in particular quite substantially. For me that is a huge disappointment from a company that I expected a quality product from. Some additional dislikes, the zipper snags a lot more than the other models I tested, and the draft tubes are a little underwhelming. I wish this bag had a vaulted footbox but I can live without that. The bag is comfortable, more roomy than the bags I mentioned above, and the materials feel nice on the skin. It is also quite warm and has a good aesthetic, but the lack of quality is my main reason for a low rating. Hoping customer service comes through and provides a solution. I simply wish I could return it at this point.

Get this Bag

Great Sleeping bag! Purchased the 10 degree bag for the winter. Used it already. The ability to unzip and use it as a blanket is smart as you can use it in the summer an fall. Drys fast and is light weight. Love the colors! Would recommend for sure!!

Want to love

I purchased the Sea to Summit TrekII -8 a few months ago and have been on a 9 day kayak trip and multiple multi-day backpacking trips with it. First off, I loved the shape and idea of this bag and after a long while researching and comparing it to others, bought it! Loved the bag when I received it for these reasons: - love the way it opens to a quilt, this is amazing for warm summer nights - colour and shape of great - seemed well built with a good amount of down (no gaps observed when held up to light) - stuff sack and storage sack are great After using this bag well for the season, it was time to wash it. I have had many down sleeping bags over the years and have always followed the instructions and used the correct products to wash and dry. I am extremely disappointed that after multiple attempts, I cannot get the down to unclump in a number of key areas. This includes around the hood, the draft tube and around the foot box. Like I said, I have tried a number of times to remedy this, especially with tennis balls and even bought a Granger kit with included dryer balls. Nothing has worked. I have taken the bag since then on a multi-day trip where it was only 6 degrees over night and suffered notable cold spots in all of these places. The trip was unfortunately not very enjoyable due to this and I am thinking I will require a new bag going forward. I love Sea to Summit products, but this experience really sucks considering my expectations for this product. If anyone from the company would like to reach out, I would be happy to provide more info if there is a deficiency to address.
