Description

There's nothing stiff and cardboardy about the Sea To Summit Tek Towel.

Some fast-drying microfiber towels feel like cardboard, and the sensation of drying off with a piece of cardboard is not what we would call wonderful. Luckily, the Sea To Summit Tek Towel has a plush terrycloth feel. The Tek Towel's unique fabric dries faster than cotton towels and is machine washable. A mesh and nylon zippered pouch makes it easy to bring this Sea To Summit Tek Towel to the beach, the pool, or on kayaking adventures.

Here's what others have to say...

Best accessory purchase in a while.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This will definitely become my new go-to towel. It's soft and extremely absorbent, and dries quickly.

Good towel

This is the perfect piece of cloth to wipe the sweat off your face on a hot, sunny day. Towel has been washed many times and still works great.

Good Camping Towel

I bought two of the Sea to Summit Tek Towels to take with us on a camping trip, and they worked beautifully.

They're soft on the skin, lightweight for packing, and very absorbent. We didn't have access to a clothesline, but every morning we spread them out inside our tent, and they dried quickly.

My husband was skeptical about buying towels expressly for travel, but after trying them out, he was sold on them.

The cases are a little snug - it takes some muscle power to get the towels back in.

What more can I say?

I think most has already been said. I do see an additional use I haven't seen on here yet.

I like to wet mine (sz Small)and put it around my neck when it is really hot out. The evaporative cooling effect helps a lot. I can also use it to wipe my face and forehead occasionally for added effect.

I use it often!

I bought this towel because the Microfiber towels are annoying to use when trying to dry your body. I like the high pile towels. I use this almost every weekend when I go Kiteboarding, Canyoneering, at the pool, or occasionally after a shower!

Sweet Towel!

I just got this towel for a backpacking trip and it was everything i was looking for. Lighweight, super compactible, dried me off sufficiently. This is a great product to have with you when you are hiking or backpacking and want to get your swim on.

Is large cobalt coming back in stock soon?

We do not have any cobalt L on order at this time.

Great towel

This towel is great for the gym or travel. I ordered the large which is fine for camping but if you want to fully wrap it around yourself the xL would be the way to go.

Way Better Than Cotton

Feels soft (unlike a lot of the cardboard feeling synth towels out there,) and packs up super small. It also dries off super fast, and although isn't as absorbent as say a cotton towel, it definitely makes up for it in the other ways I already stated. A must have for a pack.

Don't Forget to Bring a Towel

Solid towel, used on a regular basis for travel, exercise and general towel-related activities. Just gotta remember to wash it every now and again, otherwise it starts to stink up.

My Go-To Travel Towel

If you want to cut down on size compared to a regular cotton towel, this is the way to go. I got the x-large and that thing gets small and compact. That size is large enough to wrap my whole body with (I'm a small chica). I use this for traveling not only for its compactness but it dries a lot faster than a cotton towel. I like that it comes with its little mesh bag. I usually don't put it back into the sack, rather I use the sack to keep my toiletries. It doesn't feel as soft as a normal towel, it is a little "grabby" but that's cause its so absorbant. As for washing, I throw this in with my normal wash and it comes out fine. Even when I'm not traveling this is part of my collection of normal towels at home. I've had and used this for the past 4 years. Looks like new!

Must Have

I bought three of these towels over a year ago in the XL size for a deployment to Afghanistan. They were great. They saved me enourmous amounts of room in bags and dried extremely fast. Normal washing cycles didn't screw up the microfiber at all either. Extremely Impressed...I'm getting one in the Medium to put into my assault pack for convoys, helo rides, and short trips between bases.

Great Towel

I got a Med and it is good enough to dry off with after a dip in the lake. It will dry super fast and comes in a neat little travel bag thing. Love it!

Great little towel!

An awesome extra when not trying to conserve weight! Great for traveling, nice feel and VERY absorbent for its size!!

Space Saver

I bought three of these for my deployment to Afghanistan. I bought the XL size and they saved a ton of space in my bags on the way over. They work really great and dry extremely fast. I will probably buy a smaller size and might even try the microfiber for my next deployment just for short trips to and from bases.

Hello!

Request guidance on how to wash the towel
MICROFIBER Towels?

Should I just use water?
Should I use some kind of detergent?
Should I use hot water?
How to proceed?

Thanks,

To be on the safe side, I would wash it using a sport-detergent (e.g. SportWash) made for synthetics. Warm water should be fine. Don't use fabric softener or dryer sheets, though, as they tend to reduce the moisture-absorbing qualities of these synthetics.

I've washed this as I'd wash a normal towel and had no issues. I've had and used this thing as a normal towel at home for the past 4 years.. still in great condition.

Responded on

I wash it with the Nikwax Basewash with the rest of my synthetic gear. So far its done quite well.

Does the job

Took it on recent trip to India. I got the XL for maximum coverage. It works great, although I did follow other people's advice about washing it beforehand.
