Whether you're leaving tracks through meadow grass or navigating a rocky ridge line, the Scott Men's MTB Premium Shoes will shepherd you through it all in comfort and style. Featuring a breathable upper, a stiff carbon fiber sole, and a secure closure system, these shoes transfer power with ease and keep your feet feeling sprightly on tough trails or hard-nosed hammer fests.
Scott fashions the MTB Premium's upper from a mix of lightweight microfiber, 3D nylon, and Wrap Fit technology for a snug, customized fit. Wrap Fit is essentially an internal layer of synthetic leather that provides extra support while conforming to your foot shape to reduce pressure points and increase comfort. A BOA IP1 closure system spans the top of the shoe and two hook-and-loop straps across the midfoot make for quick adjustments on the fly. Inside, you'll find Scott's Adjustable ErgoLogic removable insole with a customizable arch for additional tweaks to the fit.
Underfoot, Scott incorporates a light, stiff HMX carbon fiber sole for efficient power transfer regardless of terrain. A lugged, X Traction outsole sits over the carbon to protect it from errant hits and provide excellent grip during hike-a-bike situations, and threading for two toe spikes adds options for extra traction on muddy trails or steep inclines.

So, I cannot comment on durability yet, but I can comment and fit and function which are both first rate. Thank all the gods that have ever been worshiped that a Swiss company finally puts out a well lasted shoe for Americans with feet wider than a pencil. Have never understood the paradigm of producing endless shoes with crowded toe boxes. Only oddity, which I guess we'll see as the season plays out is the hard plastic lugs. They are deep so should give great traction in loamy type trails, but might be scary as hell in Moab, Fruita, or other place where cowards like me do a lot of hike a bike. Thankfully, fit is so great I also bought a pair of the new Schr-alp RS shoes with sticky rubber and more flexible toe area which I can run in more highly technical areas. Gonna be a two shoe summer....
