No-fuss lens swaps.
Conditions change fast on the hill, which is why interchangeable lenses have become such a hot feature on goggles as of late, and the Scott LCG goggle has one of the slickest interchangeable setups we've seen. It employs a sliding lock, which pushes the lens off the frame when it's opened, making changes a breeze, even with gloves on. There's a dark and light lens option included with each set, and both lenses use Scott's OptiView spherical technology. They're 3D profiled to match the shape of your eye, and that means less distortion for reduced eye fatigue and better clarity, no matter the conditions. The fit system offers four millimeters of adjustment in the bridge of the nose, so you can fine-tune the fit. The medium fit works well for those with medium to wide faces, and the three layer face foam helps them stay sealed against your face to fight fogging. A molded case keeps the spare lens protected in your pocket, so you won't be stuck without your spare when you need it most.

Scott LCG Goggle

Scott's interchangeable lens system is the best I've used. Lenses are super easy to change and lock down nice and tight without gap or noticeable air leek.
Large fit. Good stuff.
Fit+Versatility

The ability to change lenses in the mountains is awesome. This fits well and gives me the ability to change on the fly. Great selection of individual lenses as well.
Lens changes easily and they fit well...
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
I got these near the end of last season, and only used them a dozen times, but I feel I have given them a good test.
The highlights for me are the nice fit, thanks to the rachet system, and the Illuminator 50 lens, which works better than any other low light lens I have tried. For the first time I can charge in low light without worrying about hitting something because I can't make out subtle contours more than 5 feet in front of me. Definitely a game changer for me on less than bluebird days.
The lenses change out easily but I have only used them on mostly gloomy days so I have only changed out the lens twice. On the mountain swaps might be a little tedious with frozen fingers, but I could see how it might be done quickly.
In terms of criticism, I would say they fit kind of big, and the foam around the nose is slightly irritating compared to my last pair of goggles. I also notice that they ice up fairly quickly, and maybe aren't as warm as my last pair, but I'm really stretching to find something negative to say here.
Overall, a versatile and well designed pair of goggles with great lens choices. Make sure you get the Illuminator 50 for low light days.
Great fit easy enough change...
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
Fit better than any goggles I've ever put on my face, partially thanks to the fit system. Easy changing out lenses but you do have to remove the whole goggle from face to do so (unlike the Spy Doom or Anon M2).
I found they do fog up a bit when breathing heavy but it seems to go away fairly quick.
I must add I did return these (in favor of the doom) after testing them out for a couple of weeks. 2 reasons, 1. the black chrome lens wasn't dark enough to handle a bright sunny day. 2. I found the construction of the lens to be a little flimsy at the connectors and was unsure if they would hold up over time.
*A couple nice bonuses, they include a hardshell case for the spare lens. Not very many others on the mountain with these sweet looking googles.
Good enough for the FWT!
Easy to swap lenses and adjustments
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I have been using these goggles the last two seasons and I have no complaints. They feel great on my face. I can adjust the space around my nose if needed. Great since I have a small nose. No more snow going through open spaces! You can also easily swap out lenses to adjust for different light too!
No-Fuss lens change...for REAL.

I spent a long time researching and trying out lens change goggles. I was looking at the new Oakley Airbrake, the Smith I/O & I/OX, and the Anon M2, and finally decided on the Scott LCG. I can't say enough positive things about these goggles - the lens change is so freaking easy, you can do it without taking off your gloves or man-handling the lens or frame.
I love the *big* goggle profile, and even though I have a small cranium (I wear an XS Red 'Drift' helmet), I feel like they fit perfectly. There are two places on the underside of the goggle where you use a tool to adjust how the goggle fits your face. Basically, these adjustments make the frame "flatter" against your face, or they bring the frame in slightly to hug your face. It depends on your profile what fit will work for you. I adjust them, and they don't bother my nose at all, and the field of vision is a seriously drastic improvement over my last set of goggles.
There is a silicon bead on the inside of the strap so that they stay put on your helmet, too.
Not many people on the mountain were rocking these yet. So if you care about that kind of thing, there you go.
The only con I have is this: The spare lens comes with a firm protective case, but the goggles don't! Just a fabric bag! Boo...would like to have an upgraded option there. No dings or scratches thus far, though.
Best lens changing goggle.

Scott has stepped up the lens changing game. These goggles have a great peripheral and you can change out your lenses in seconds. They breathe well and don't fog up on you...it also doesn't hurt that they look good too!

Easiest Goggle Around
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I have been wearing Scott goggles for the past 7 years and I've got to say this style has got to be their best to date. First off, the easy interchangeable lens is TRULY really easy to change. I hated changing lens before because it was such a pain and thus always wanted several pairs of goggles. Because it's so easy to change the lens on these I really could do with just one pair now and just have extra lens- which is more cost effective.
The fit of the goggle is pretty big and easily fits mens' faces/heads. Usually I have a tough time with a goggle of this size since I have such a small head, but because the goggle is shaped right it works fine for me and doesn't look ridiculous. The goggle fits snuggly with a Scott helmet and I highly recommend pairing the two together.
All the colors are pretty sweet. The white is vibrant as well as the blue pair. The grey/pink is more muted with just a pop of bright pink.
I highly recommend these goggles.

Does anyone know what the size of this goggle is compared to smith i/o and i/o x? I currently have i/os, which fit my face and helmet well but could have a better field of view. I just tried on some i/oxs and they were a little too big for my face and definitely too big for my smith maze helmet. The maze has a very small brim and the frame of the i/ox stuck out passed it, which looked ridiculous.
I'd say these are more like the new Smith IO7! If you thought the IOX was too big, I would definitely check out the new IO7, or the regular IO! OR this would be an awesome option as well. Hit me up if you have any questions LFeasler@backcountry.com
