    Repairs made easy.

Like most good ideas, the Scorpion MTB Stand is a relatively simple, straightforward tool that's sure to make your life a lot easier. This minimalist stand helps you perform simple repairs to your favorite mountain bike without taking up the space of a traditional bike stand. It attaches to the hollow spindle of your bike's crank arm, supporting your bike with the rear tire elevated off the ground. This makes gear adjustments and other maintenance work much easier. It's also super-light and portable enough for race day, weighing in at just four pounds. The Scorpion MTB Stand comes with an adaptor to fit most hollow cranks, such as Shimano, SRAM, Rotor/FSA, Specialized, Truvativ, and Cannondale. Moreover, it works with 26, 27.5, and 29-inch wheels for compatibility with your favorite XC, trail, and enduro bikes.

    • Works with 26, 27.5, 29-inch wheels
    • Comes with crank adaptor for use with hollow crank spindles

    Great addition for garage work/storage

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Wife and I are blessed with a stable of bikes. Some are hanging from the ceiling and the ones we reach for often are in the feedback sports racks or leaned up against the wall. I was read to buy another feedback sports rack but decided to try this. Turned out to be a good move--works well just to keep a single bike upright (so no falling against the car or on the floor to potentially bash the derailleur/hanger). And its worked out well for bike washing, simple tuning/cleaning activities. And thanks for throwing in the free torque wrench (free with purchase promo when I bought).

    Worth It

No more leaning the bike against...well, whatever you can find. I use this on the back patio for washing and light mx. Going w 4 stars because the fit is very tight on the crank of my 2015 Cannondale Trigger Carbon 29. Can't use any of the stand adapters on my factory stock SRAM, so it's just the crank right on the paint of the stand. It does work, but not ideal.

I really wanted to like it...

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Unfortunately I have Raceface Turbine Cinch cranks and this requires the smallest adapter, which doesn't allow the pin that secures the adapter to be used. My bike felt unstable, I definitely couldn't do work on it. Disappointed because I was really excited for a small stand to use in my apartment. I think this is a good design, just probably performs better with larger diameter adapters.

I also just installed a RaceFace Next SL G4 Crankset and found the default plastic adapter too large.. after removing that the bike was a bit unsteady as the horizontal part slopes down a bit. A quick fix for this was putting it in a vice and slowly bending the horizontal section upwards just a bit and now the bike is steady as ever. Great stand would buy again.

Too bad I got a defective one

The pro version bike stand works nicely. I ordered a second non pro MTB stand. Unfortunately, I'm returning it because the one I received is not bent properly which makes the bike lean to the right.

      Great Bike Stand

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You can use this stand anywhere. You dont have to worry about leaning your bike up against anything with this stand. You can use it to display your awesome bike. I have used it for some light cleaning. very high quality. I have 3 of them and need more.

      well done

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Excellent idea, excellent product execution. Works perfectly as-is with my MTB's SRAM XX1 crank. Very sturdy, rigid, stable. Glad they designed it as one-piece. High-quality powder, hardware, and even the welds.

Great Idea, for the correct cranks

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I do love the concept here, it's stability and simplicity. 4 stars for cranks with a larger hole, such as Shimano. For the smaller Race Face cranks (I have Turbine Cinch), it works so-so and would do 3 stars. First you have to use the slim plastic sleeve adapter. Note that Backcountry did not send the 2 extra adapters that Scorpion provides...Backcountry said that no extra adapters are included, but Scorpion confirmed that two different sized plastic adapters are supposed to ship with the stand. Scorpion did send me these, props to them. With the slim adapter on, there was no way to secure it with the cotter pin since everything must be under 0.5" in diameter to slip into the Race Face crank. I used some shrink wrap to try and get this to stay, with marginal success. Once on, when turning the cranks, it has a tendency to walk off if you don't support the bike. Overall a bit mediocre with RF cranks, but I think it would work much better with Shimano cranks.

If you have Race Face Next SL cranks....

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've noticed the interface doesn't work as well and the connection allows the bike to slip and move more than I like. For Shimano/SRAM/ any other cranks however, I would highly recommend.

      handy

This is a pretty nice thing to have if you live in an apartment and all of your small bike maintenance tasks take place on your deck and/or in your kitchen. It comes with 3 different sized adaptors for the spindle, and I did have to initially swap out the standard one to fit my RaceFace cranks. I also had to bend the spindle back/up a little bit to get the pedals to clear the stand - and to keep the bike from sliding off the spindle - but it's stayed put since then. When combined with a chain cleaner tool (à la Park Tool's Chain Gang Chain Cleaner) cleaning chains is ALMOST enjoyable!

Unfortunately none of the available colors match my bluegreen bike frame, but the yellow color is pretty good lookin'.

        Great stand

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

no more leaning my bikes against the wall in the garage. Every bike now has a Scorpion stand. They work perfect, look cool, and remind me of my old dirt bike stands.

        Great stand

        Great stand

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really enjoy the Scorpion Bike Stand. For the cost of a little less than a pair of mountain bike sorts, this US-made storage stand delivers great functionality, and works great for the majority of maintenance tasks.

Using the Scorpion Bike Stand is straightforward. All a user needs to do is simply lift your bike and slide the hollow crank spindle. Most mountain cranks use large-diameter hollow axles, making current SRAM and Shimano cranksets, as well as numerous models from FSA, Race Face and others compatible cranks with it?s plastic sleeve system.

        Great stand

how does this come shipped? I'm assuming it comes in at least 2 pieces to fit a flat box?
