Why We Like The Vapor V Climbing Shoe

Upgrade your sending arsenal with Scarpa Men's Vapor V Climbing Shoe before hopping on your lifelong projects again. This shoe focuses on precise footwork over a variety of footholds, both overhung and vertical. Bi-Tension randing reverses standard slingshot randing in order to connect your toe to your heel, instead of uncomfortably bunching your toes towards the front of the shoe. The result is a more powerful performance, assisting any movement from technical static moves to huge dynamic jumps.

Comfortable!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These shoes don't need breaking-in. In terms of other qualities -- edging on small foot chips, feel/sensitivity -- these seem to be middle-of-the-road. For example, the Miura seems stiffer and can hold tiny edges better. The Quantix seem softer and gives you a bit better feel. The Skwama seems to be similarly comfortable for wide-ish feet, but these are less aggressive. These are definitley my go-to for comfort without significant compromise in performance. The rubber may wear slightly more quickly but I believe this is the price you pay for softer compounds. I am on my seoncd pair, but plan to re-sole them eventually. I wear these in my street shoes size.

Not good quality

I got these shoes expecting top quality shoes, but with in a month and a half they were already breaking down. The rubber is just not durable. When I talked to customer service they said that this was normal. To say the least I'm not thrilled with these shoes.

Painful at first but fits like a glove!

At first i thought I had gotten the wrong size as they seemed just too tight! But after a few gym sessions in, they really fit like a glove and am not complaining at all! Super comfortable after the break in period and there is no air gap at all. The toe box and heel cup are snug like a glove. Just the right amount of downturn for most routes. They have good sensitivity and smear very well as they are soft. Not the best for bouldering but they will be able to work!

Excellent climbing shoes

I've had several models of Scarpa and other brands. These broke in quickly; I wore them for about 15 minutes a few days before climbing. At the climbing gym, we climbed for about three hours. These shoes gave me a noticeably good footing on even the tiniest foot chips. Presently, I have serious climber's elbow in my right arm and mild climber's elbow in my left but nearly sent a 5.12a on my first attempt and I credit that to the difference these shoes made. That, and I used the Theraband Flexbar between each climb. But the shoes were just amazing. After three hours slab bouldering, steep wall bouldering, roofing, and toproping, I removed the shoes and had no blisters or other issues. These are worth every penny!
