It’s muddy out there, and you’ve got ten miles to go before you can give your dogs a rest, so it's a good thing that you laced up your Scarpa Terra GTX Hiking Boots; built tough with a waterproof breathable Gore-Tex membrane, the Terras also feature burly leather uppers that can stand up to a beating ... or ten.

  • Gore-Tex waterproof and breathable membranes keeps your feet dry through wet and muddy conditions and allows sweat and moisture to escape
  • PU midsole offers stability and natural support underfoot
  • Vibram Energy outsole maintains traction on a variety of surfaces
  • Bi-directional ankle flex provides support without sacrificing range of motion

Not very durable.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These boots fit great and required zero break in time. They look pretty sharp, too. However, they will not stand up to serious use. I put these on in June, and wore them out by October. I wore them pretty much every day working trails and walked between 4-8 miles per day. I acknowledge that my needs are perhaps beyond what I should expect from this boot, but I expected a bit more from Scarpa.
The leather seems too soft to hold up to mountain use; I blew a hole in the toe of the "burly leather uppers" of one boot in less than 3 months. The sole seems soft, and getting softer, and the ankle support if pretty minimal. These would be good superlight hikers or around-town boots, but I don't believe they are for Rocky Mountain duty.

Wish this came in half sizes

This looks like a great boot but I'm sad Scarpa doesn't seem to make half sizes. I wear a US 9.5, and I've gotten a EU 42.5 in other boots (which worked best for me). The 42 was too small. I loved the boot so much, I tried to make a 43 work with inserts and extra socks, but it was too big and made my knees hurt. My husband loves his Scarpa boots and I really wish I could find a size that would work for me. The 43 was kind of wonderful until day 2 when my knees started killing me. Took off the boots and knee problems vanished. But if you can get a size that works for you, seems like a good boot. Very attractive and light weight for summer hiking.

I wear a US men's size 10 (EU 43), and it looks like the smallest size available right now is a EU 45. Are more of these on order in smaller sizes?
