Terminator X Pro Boot

The Scarpa Terminator X Pro Telemark Ski Boot gives you the combination of a seriously stiff upper and NTN compatibility to help you rip the steepest backcountry lines with ease. For extra badassery points, Scarpa designed this boot to work with TLT alpine bindings too (follow manual's instructions), so you only need one boot to shred with free or locked heels.

  • Burly Pebax shell, moldable Intuition liners, Torsion Frame, and four-buckle system with added power strap make this one of Scarpa's burliest boots
  • Unique design permits you to use the same boot for telemarking or touring with Dynafit bindings
  • Triple-injection foot and bi-injection cuff dial the boot's performance zone-by-zone
  • Pivoting tongue makes getting in and out easy
  • A Vibram sole to make your approach postholing a bit nicer

Bottom Line: If you can’t get it done in this boot, you can’t get it done.

Looking to switch from Hamerheads to NTN. How do they compare? I can see the pro's of the NTN as far as easier touring, crampon compatable boots, Dtnafit crossover etc., but how do they ski? I use the extra stiff HH springs.

OK I am the Scarpa rep but was the G3 rep for years I have skiied all the Tele Bindings out there. Performance wise these kick butt. Really stiff laterally the power to ski transmission is like no other. The disadvantage is they are heavy for touring , and the free pivot is not as free ( more mechanical ) then say BD O1, G3 Targa Ascent. But having the ability to use one boot for Tele and AT is quite nice and the boots are really comfortable especialyy for boot packing and hiking. My 2

I'm a tele skier wanting to switch to AT (yet maintain tele functionality). Looks like these boots are nice and flexible in the right spots for NTN setup. Are these boots going to be stiff enough to handle my alpine turns? I'm a big guy (6'5" 240) and ski pretty hard (in bounds, side- and backcountry).

In my experience I have seen folks of your build rip it up on these AT and Tele. Very hard to give a definitive answer as its a personal preference thing. But if you a experience tele skier making the switch I think you will be please with the perfomae for both applications.

Great all around boot

First boot I skied after switching to NTN. Took a few days to get used to the different feel of the whole system but can happily say, NEVER will go back to 75mm. Lateral performance is great but its the forward flex and connectivity with the ski that you have to just try to be able to feel.
Check the video for a look of how they like to be skied.

The TX Pro because the TX Comp doesn't have a walk mode. If you need the biggest burliest boot the TX Comp will come with a walk mode next year.

Ultimate Tele Setup

I have this boot with the NTN binding, and can not speak highly enough for both of them. This boot is everything I could want, what stands out most to me however is the unbelievably customizable fit provided by the intuition liner, and the AT (in my case Dynafit) compatibility. As for flex and responsiveness, I ride this boot with the stiffest spring (black) that you can get for the NTN binding, and together this is a match made in heaven. This is especially notable given the fact that such a stiff spring could easily overpower a softer boot, resulting in lack of a clean flex from the binding, and extra loose flex from the boot.

The duckbill looks a bit short on this. How well does it work w/ a traditional tele binding like the G3 Targa?

It doesn't! These will only work with the new NTN or Dynafit style bindings.

NTN binding is available at: http://www.backcountry.com/scarpa-ntn-binding

For your Targa's you will need a boot with a standard 75mm duckbill.

Eric, thes boots will NOT work with a traditional 75mm duckbill binding. It is only compatible with the NTN binding from Rottefella

Match made in Heaven

Boot is awesome - the ideal stiffness. I use these boots with the rotty NTN binding and blue springs (second strongest) My size 14 ft fit into the 30.5 nicely - though I did have to remove the foot beds. The flex is perfect, the NTN setup is just too cool, and the boot looks awesome.

The bellow is the perfect stiffness - not too stiff but, by no means, a stick of butter.

Get this boot!!!

Just bought the Terminator X boot. Which Dynafit binding model

Just bought the Terminator X boot. Which Dynafit binding model should I get for an alpine (resort) set up? Or is G3 or another company the way to go for that kind of kit?
Thanks.

you could go either way , I would recoomend the Dynafit FT12 for resort/ Backountry , the onyx binding works well but they do not have a place to put the shim ( that came with your boots) The shim takes up the space between the boot and the binding and slides into the Dynafit but not G3 . So in short Dynafit FT12

Has anyone used this with Dynafit bindings? Is there much slop?

Has anyone used this with Dynafit bindings? Is there much slop? I am a splitboarder looking to move to AT but I am curious about tele and using dynafit for a split set up. So is this the boot to complete the trifecta?

Erick,
I have no experience with a snowboard on these boots but I think they would work great. I do have experience in Dynafit and NTN . And they work great, no slop very comfortable.

Scarpa guy here .. the last on this boot is a 102mm ( medium fit ) this measurement is taken at the widest portion of the shell in the foot area. These do have custome liners as well and can be heated and molded to your foot type
If your looking at other models of Scarpa we do have different lasts for different models.

is this a good boot for an AT skier who may want to try tele

is this a good boot for an AT skier who may want to try tele skiing in the next few years? I am upgrading from the original Struktura but want a boot that is more focused on backcountry than sidecountry. This boot seems like a good weight and stiffness despite the bellows, but if someone else has 'experience' with the boot, that'd help. I have only tele skied a couple times, but am interested if I could score a set of skis/bindings that I don't have to buy another pair of boots for. Also, can you kinda-sorta tele ski in Dynafit AT bindings?
Thanks!

So this would be a good do it all boot for you. If you do decide you want to tele you will have to buy into the NTN system ..which rocks and is getting better every year. I have used with Dynafit and it also works well, but hard to Tele on Dynafit bindings ... there is no resistance/ compression spring when in walk mode so it make it very difficult to Tele .. you would be over the handlebars quite a bit. Hope this helps.. there is also a $100 mail in rebate if you buy a Scarpa boot with an NTN binding but its for this season only.

We've added the Speed Pro liner which is a tongue style Intuition liner (vs last years wrap style design) and we've added the Active powerstrap which is an elasticized powerstrap. No other changes.
