Pretty new to the world of climbing, but these shoes are very impressive. Nice and snug, but very comfortable. Not for really aggressive or overhanging stuff just a sweet all-arounder from gym to the outdoors they do it all.

Very comfy shoe!

I was looking for a slightly aggressive but very comfy shoe and this pair fits the bill perfectly. These aren't the shoes I would go for if I was trying to do an overhanging project but for a general fun day at the crag this is the shoe. I sized down 2 sizes from my street shoe (45 to 43) and that gives the perfect balance of toe snugness without making me wince when I use them on micro chips.

It depends on what you mean by decent, and what type of climbing you plan on doing. These shoes will be very comfortable and i would suggest sizing down big time if you plan to sport climb in them. They are not very aggressive but that makes them perfect for certain applications and beginners. Overall Scarpa is a very reputable brand if that is what you are asking.

Comfy shoes

By:
November 14, 2010

I refer to these shoes as my comfy shoes. For those of you who like to feel what you are climbing, these shoes are perfect. These shoes let you feel everything. Lack of stiffness and lack of a downturned toe sacrifices a bit in edging performance, but they will do everything else. I have a pair of Sportiva Miuras for those bouldering problems with tiny little edges where you need a stiff toe, but for everything else I use the Force. I would recommend these shoes for anybody from beginners to experienced climbers. Just be warned that if you are used to a stiff toed shoe doing the work for you, you won't like these or may need to get used to them before you like them. If you want to strengthen your feet, and feel what you climb, buy these shoes. Also, I have worn these babies for 5 straight hours of climbing without taking them off. Best all around shoe I've seen yet.

good but not great

By:

Overall, these shoes are great. They have served me well for gym climbing, bouldering, and overhangs. they dont always do so well on slabs though and they are not very stiff. They also lack a downpointed toe which can make things harder. Also, the toe wears down very fast. But overall, they perform fairly well and are very comfortable

i finally got to wear the shoes on an actual climb and i gotta say i love them. the heel fits perfectly, the shoe is snug enough to not move and squeeze my feet but not tight enough to cause discomfort. great shoe
