Love this shoe

This is my second paid and is the only shoe I will run in. Very light and supportive (I have a medium arch). This is not a heel striking shoe since there is only a 4mm drop but is no where close to a 'barefoot' running shoe. If you are a slight heel striker to a midfoot striker then this is a great shoe. Ventilation is awesome. You don't really need to wear socks (personal choice). At the price, you can't beat this shoe.

Love 'em

No break in period and comfortable from the get go. Very light and I love the negative heel. I train in various terrain from soft trails, to rocky climbs, to flat roads. These are still the relief and comfort I need on the hard flat surfaces, when I can't be on the trails.

Super Comfy Shoe

I am going on two weeks in these bad boys. I don't think I have ever worn a running shoe that is so soft and comfy. They hardly weigh anything and they are super breathable. I can't speak to durability yet but they have been great so far.

Light, comfortable, and strong

I tried these shoes after 2 years of wearing the asics kayano 13 shoes which provide quite a bit of cushion/support. The idea was for me to transition toward a more "bare foot" type of running. Anyway, I bought these Kinvaras just because they were on sale and I was ready to try something new. Well ... I was pleasantly surprised, they are light and comfortable when running. I used them to train and run the Salt Lake City Half-marathon (2012) and I absolutely have loved them since. These are my 2nd pair because although they are light and comfortable, they also provide plenty of support and cushion in all the right places. An additional bonus for the hot summer months ahead is that they also allow air circulation through their upper meshed material. One observation: these shoes are best for road running and flat smooth running surfaces, they are light enough that I could feel the rocks under my feet when I tried them on the trail. If you want to do trail running, wear something with stiffer soles.

Is this shoe good for over pronators? I...

Is this shoe good for over pronators? I have a long gait and over pronate. Would this shoe be good for me?

Responded on

I would recommend the Saucony Mirage for overpronation. Looks about the same as the Kinvara but provides more stability.

Cruising in Comfort

I've always run in Saucony shoes and wanted to replace my last pair of Progrid 3s with something like this. So far I have run them a bit on the road and a bit more on the trail and I really liked the soft ride they provided and they felt really good right out of the box. I usually have to skip the 2nd or 3rd lacing eyelets on my running shoes to allow for more forefoot splay which is more comfortable for me when running. These did not require me to skip those eyelets while still allowing that splay due to the airy material that the upper is constructed out of. I also tend to use the heel lock lacking at the top to keep my heel locked in but so far these are staying put with no issues just lacing in a standard way. These will be my daily runners and racers on and off pavement, with a more aggressive sole for off road use on more technical terrain. I sized them true to my street shoe and they fit quite well.

Nice for the roads

This is one of my go to shoes to wear when I "have" to train on harder surfaces. They are comfortable right out of the box and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the found the forefoot area a little narrow...but I have a really wide forefoot from smashing them down for 37 years! ;-) I have over 200 miles on my pair and they have plenty of months left to go before I retire them.

Out of sight

So comfortable right out of the box. Great feel on the foot. I am 6', 175 lbs, former Marine ground pounder, and these shoes have helped me get away from the traditional heel to toe, heavy footed running style.
