Flexible, technical, and rocking a low drop.
Securely positioned at the head Saucony's Natural series, the Women's ProGrid Mirage 4 Running Shoe is a departure from traditional running shoes, but isn't quite full-on minimalist, either. Serious runners often find shoes to be overbuilt, excessively cushioned, and fitted with a bulky heel that interferes with natural running motion, but the Mirage is a lightweight shoe with plenty of flexibility and a low 4mm drop, with just the right amount of cushioning. Saucony threw pretty much every lightweight, low-profile cushioning technology they could at the Mirage, which resulted in it being outfitted with an EVA+ foam high-abrasion midsole, ultralight PowerGrid heel cushioning, a TPU midfoot stabilizer, and an HRC strobel board. Yup, all in the same shoe. Saucony must also know magic, because the Mirage weighs under eight ounces. The ultralight FlexFilm upper helps to shave off the weight, and the XT-900 and blown-rubber outsole sticks to slick surfaces without adding unnecessary ounces.
