Santini's Mesh Base Layer provides you with the Italian company's latest fabric and fit technologies, resulting in a layering piece that keeps your body fresh, dry, and supported. And while the base layer might look like your standard mesh top on the surface, once you discover the quality of the fabric and the minute details that go into it, you'll see that it's much more than your average base layer.

Lightweight Nilit Innergy mesh material (you read that right) is used to construct the base layer. This polypropylene fabric regulates your body temperature by pulling moisture from your skin and transferring it to the fabric's quick-drying surface. In addition to this, the open mesh fabric is hypoallergenic and doesn't cause any irritation, making it the ideal for a next-to-skin base layer material. The comfortable fabric is also abrasion-, stain-, and wear-resistant, meaning that it'll stay in your apparel rotation for years to come.

The fit of Santini's Mesh Base Layer is slightly compressive, which, when combined with the wide elastic armbands and hem, gently holds your upper body in place. Accordingly, you're able to remain comfortable, while experiencing less fatigue, for longer periods of time with Santini's new Mesh Base Layer.

The Santini Mesh Base Layer is available in the color White and in the sizes Small/Medium and Large/X-Large.

strange fit

this item is very fish net like and is on the small side of sizing. I regularly wear a large and this was not even close to a large

Many of the warm weather base layer pieces are definitely open "fish net" in design (e.g., the Castelli "seamless" SS-BL and this Santini "mesh" SS-BL). The purpose of this design seems to be to create a wicking, highly breathable and evaporative (even cooling) air layer between you and your short-sleeve jersey. And to keep your skin drier.

Italian brand cycling clothing usually means size-up one (even two) sizes -especially Santini.
