Fast, nimble, but not for everyone

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was lucky enough to try many of the bikes Santa Cruz has to offer and this was one of my favorites. The bike is fast like an XC bike, but is definitely trail ready. The slack head angle makes downhills super fun. Responsively this bike rails due to the low bottom bracket, however this is the caveat. Though you feel glued down in the corners the bike suffers through extremely rough technical terrain. I was the most fatigued when I demoed this bike, but what I found was through rock gardens I had a lot of BB hits. If you live in an area with smooth fast dirt this is the bike for you. For rougher might want another setup, or convert this to 650B

Why your Santa Cruz Bicycles Blur TRc - R XC Build Kit - 2012

has different fork suspension from other Store?

There are several reasons why a bike build on one website or store may differ from that on another website. 1) Santa Cruz like all bike manufacturers orders a fixed amount of parts and components from their suppliers before production of a bike and throughout the course of the year. When those parts and components are no longer available, they build the bike with another/similar part. If you go on any of the large bike company websites you will see a disclaimer, "We reserve the right to make changes to the product information contained on this site at any time without notice, including with respect to equipment, specifications, models, colors, and materials." 2) Some bike builders buy frames from the manufacturers and give customers a menu of compatible parts to construct their bike from.

Reason #1 more than likely applies to your question about different bike builds on different websites.
