Bantam D Complete Mountain Bike - 2015

Santa Cruz’s Bantam D Complete Mountain Bike receives some trickle-down love from today’s best trail bikes to offer a reliable, do-anything ride at an affordable price. The Bantam features the same stiff front end and well-balanced shape as Santa Cruz’s 5010, and its stout aluminum tubeset provides stability without piling on the weight. The Bantam also uses the same super-stiff and easy-to-maintain collet hardware as Santa Cruz’s VPP bikes. The Bantam’s 12x142mm rear thru-axle provides additional stiffness, and the 30.9mm seat tube is compatible with dropper posts.

The build for Santa Cruz’s Bantam D includes an Evolution series FOX FLOAT CTD rear shock, which pairs nicely with the RockShox Sektor Gold RL 130mm travel fork. The drivetrain features a mix of Shimano’s SLX groupset with a few select SRAM bits. SRAM DB1 hydraulic brakes offer reliable stopping power. The cockpit includes a Race Face Ride bar, stem, and seatpost, which is topped with a WTB Volt saddle. Santa Cruz includes its hand-built wheels, which run on SRAM hubs laced with DT spokes to WTB rims, and they’re wrapped in Maxxis tires.
