If corduroy pants trigger a Pavlovian urge to tip on your side and seek the apex, the Salomon XW Tornado TI + Z12 ski/binding system is the powerful medicine you need. The XW Tornado TI is built for destroying groomers at high speed, with dual titanium laminate sheets sandwiching a full wood core for the ultimate in frontside carving performance. The convenience of the included Z12 binding makes for easy setup and allows the ski to flex freely for zero dead spots. Powerline and PulsePad technologies reduce vibration and chatter for a smooth, powerful ride.

  • Dual Monocoque construction for toughness and longevity
  • Full wood core with dual titanium laminates for chatter-busting stability at speed
  • Powerline rails extend from the binding plate to the edges, adding tenacious grip and damping without using excess material

ok intermediate ski

These are a fine ski for an intermediate skiing only groomers. I gave them a shot hoping to have something for hard pack days in between storms. They hold an edge fine, but aren't responsive enough when pushed hard. I also found them terrible off piste. I felt like I was back on my old 200cm straight skis. I would give them usage split of 95% piste/5% off-piste. Even if you want a groomer only ski, I think you could find something better than these for the price.

Skied these skis this week. WOW!

I demod these skis in Colorado this week. Like the finest European sports car the way it handles speed and maneuvers. Get strapped in on these babies. I skied them on a dump day in about 8" of fresh powder. They did ok but I got pushed around in them some. They were great in moguls though. Definitely a fine piece of equipt. I chose another pair that I thought were better off piste to buy. But after some great service from NAte at backcountry I couldn't resist and had to buy the last pair they had in my size. You'll love them but best for nom intermediates as they are very subtle.

I'm an intermediate, 5'9, 140lb male and wondering what length I should get... thinking 159 or 166? Ski mostly on groomed.
