From the top of the tram to the deep trees, the Salomon XW Hurricane Alpine Ski gives you an advanced to expert-level all-mountain killing versatility and strength. Combined with the super lightweight Z12 B90 Binding, this Salomon combo slays the mountain. The XW Hurricane Ski's mid fat size and over-sized sidecut give you the versatility to go from floating the pow, to dodging trees, to hauling ass down the corduroy in one run. Salomon's Spaceframe construction reinforces the ski's edge and underfoot for a lightweight, yet powerful feel, which holds a hard line at any speed. Throw the feather-light Salomon Z12 B90 Binding for killer power transmission and agility. These Salomon bindings crank up to a 12 DIN rating for full throttle charging anywhere on the mountain.

Bottom Line: Bump your skiing up to a category 4 force on this Salomon all-mountain combo.

I can't speak for the last reviewer, but I love these skis. I find them to be very responsive, incredibly easy to turn, and excellent over all kinds of terrain. Best pair of skis I've ever owned!

Biggest disappointment in my ski life

By:

I finally get them. Even when I snowplowed to enter the lift maze, my wife noticed something weird about my snowplow. It looked much larger than usual.
I tried them on a mixture of a few centimeters of heavier snow over a very firm base.
They were like skiing with two by fours. No response, no feeling, no turning feeling, no holding on the firm sections. I am an expert skier who always quickly adapted to any new equipment.
If they had been rentals I would have turned them in to ask for a more interesting ski.
Today I did not even feel like going skiing they were that bad.
It is true that I was also trying new boots.
I have the feeling that the bindings were mounted too far forward...this might explain the snowplow that looked so much bigger than my usual one.
