great shoe, crazy grip, low life span...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I compete in USPSA. Its about speed shooting competition. And we shoot mostly sandy and rocky terrain. And these shoes when they're new bites down hard and the grip helps me come to a sharp and abrupt stops. I've worn these since January 2014 and its on their way out. Theyre quite worn and need replacement. My only gripe out this shoe is ... I wished they last longer... The first Salomon's which was a speedcross 3's lasted a whole year but were dead by december.

Look great, but...

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small

These shoes look solid and I'm sure that they would be great to run in, but they seem to run quite small. Most of my casual shoes are size 11 and I typically wear size 11.5 in running shoes. I ordered 11.5 in the S-Lab 5s, and my forefoot was JAMMED in the toe box. I never have needed wide shoes nor do I consider myself to have a high volume foot, so the shoes must also be quite narrow. Unfortunately, the size 12s were sold out so I'm not sure what I'm going to do for my winter runner. I'm considering the S-Lab 6 Softground, but the upper on the 6 doesn't look like it is as water resistant as the upper on the 5. Time will tell. FYI: I can't really attach a meaningful star rating to these shoes as I was not able to run in them.

Great for the Utah trails!

Great fit, true D width, love the lacing system, good cushioning, very stable, and great traction. I have a neutral foot, and the higher density EVA doesn't seem to be too stiff in the heel for me. Keep on running
