Description

From door to trail and back again.

Unless you're lucky enough to live right on a trail, or are in the habit of driving to the trailhead, you'll need an all-terrain shoe like the Salomon Women's XR Mission CS Trail Running Shoe for all the different surfaces you'll traverse on your way to the trail head. This lightweight and flexible shoe was designed for short- to middle-distance runs on both road and trail; the XR Mission CS also features a Climashield waterproof breathable insert in the forefoot that extends its versatility to cover any kind of weather, wet or dry.

Designed for women from the ground up, this version of the XR Mission features a fit that's more tapered toward the midfoot and toebox and a shape designed to accommodate a smaller foot. Salomon divides its running shoes into a number of different collections: the XS for speed in all conditions, the XR for performance training, and the XT for all-terrain running. Aside from the Women's Mission, the Mission CS is the only shoe in the XR collection that's designed specifically for women.

  • Climashield membrane offers waterproof breathable protection in wet weather and on soggy trails
  • Sensiflex upper creates a secure lateral hold on your foot inside the shoe while also stretching to adapt to the width of your forefoot
  • Ortholite sockliner delivers light cushioning and helps reduce friction inside the shoe
  • Quicklace lacing provides even, one-pull tightening down the length of your shoe and won't loosen or come undone mid-stride
  • Two semi-rigid bars run from the mid-foot to forefoot to create the OS Tendon structure, which improves heel-to-toe roll through your foot strike
  • Multiple-density EVA in the midsole offers secure stability as well as shock absorption
  • 11mm drop (heel-forefoot offset) offers a more traditional running-shoe feel and supports runners who naturally heelstrike (or prefer to) when running
  • Contagrip LT uses lightweight sole materials to offer superior forefoot grip and traction
  • Contagrip HA uses more abrasion-resistant sole material to offer increased support and durability

I am am avid trail runner and used to wear salomons years ago. I decided to try them out this year as they had so many options. The sizing is off and I had to try several pairs. One the first run, they made my knees ache, which never happens. I decided to give them a second chance thinking there was just a break in period and regretted making that assumption. They gave me blisters on my arches! These shoes are made well, but the fit is off and seems different for every shoe they offer. These didn't work for me.

I got this in Moorea blue and the color is just as pictured. It is pretty narrow around the middle of the foot. I was nervous at first that it wouldn't fit, but after a couple hours of wear around the house I realized that the snugness was quite comfortable. There is lots of room in the toe box and good arch support. I have worn these to work, on walks in town and on the trail. They are comfy in all conditions. They have really good traction on the snowy/rocky rails here in Montana and I would recommend them for trail running. They seem to be pretty water resistant as my feet came out dry after crossing creeks and snow. In summation, love it!!

I have been wearing asics for about a year now and I wanted to try something new. I love the color and style of these and they're super light. As with the other Salomons, these run big! about half a size. I normally wear a 7.5 verrry occasionally an 8. I am in the process of exchanging the 7.5's I bought for a size 7. They almost fit, but they're just a bit too big. Besides that they're very comfy, but they do have a very big arch.
