Central America Trekkers

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my son to be used for trekking through the jungles of central america. He loved them, he said they are extremely comfortable, easy to get on/off and had perfect traction for running through wet and muddy terrain. Plus, he looks damn good in them!

Central America Trekkers

My son calls these "the good stuff".

My son is 13, and has had these through late last fall. It's March now, and they still show very little wear. That means they made it through a brutal Idaho winter! I can't say that for any other pair of shoes he's owned... EVER. Too bad he's growing like a weed because they will definitely outlast his stubbornness to continue growing (despite my protests).

He is really proud of them. His favorite thing about them is the quick-lace system which happens to be his Mom's favorite thing about them too since she hasn't had to utter the phrase, "Tie your shoes" for months now.

    forgets to take them off

I have a 7-year-old son who typically dumps his shoes inside the back door because he can't wait to get them off. Not so with these! Apparently they are so comfy I have to keep reminding him to take them off. High marks for durability as well. He burns through shoes on playgrounds, trail and pavement, and these have held up very well. Take note of the lacing system, though. It's cool - just pull to tighten - but a little dexterity is required to tuck the loop and bracket up under the little flap on the front of the tongue. Not a big deal, but worth knowing what you're getting into.
