Love these shorts! Wonderful for beach.

Bought these in late April 2013 for a trip to Florida. Wore them several times on my trip and liked the feel (material, and fit). I am a rectangle shape, so it's hard to find board shorts that fit my waist, but aren't super huge in the hips. Plus I like them a bit longer in length, and these fit the bill! No Velcro at the waist or lace up tie like other board shorts...instead they have a bit of elastic on the back waistband that helps keep them up. I liked this design and it works for me! I bought the size large and they fit really well. Love that they have two pockets with zippers, which came in handy for storing my cell phone or seashells collected along the beach. (Stored my cell phone in a ziplock Baggie to protect it from moisture and sand on the beach.)

didn't work for me

These shorts have a band that swoops down & took some getting used to when I first put them on. They are great, stretchy, drys fast, mesh pockets, great for water play. I did not like the way they looked on. If someone liked the fit, they would be great shorts.

versatile comfy shorts

i just bought these for a trip to the jungle (and really, for general use). love 'em! they are super comfy, easy to get on and off with the flat front feature (no need for zippers/ties/buttons). there are laces inside to cinch them up more if you prefer though... (wait, did i just make that up.. im fairly sure they are there, sorry - i'm not writing this from home!). the fabric is soft and comfy. the mesh makes it breathable even though the fabric is already dry-wicking. great pair of shorts. i ended up wearing these almost every day we weren't in the water even though i brought 3 other pairs of shorts. ps - i'm about 5'1, 125 lbs and wore an xs (normally, i wear a size 2 or 4 in pants to give you an idea). the s still fit but was a bit loose so i opted on the xs.

Breezy on a hot day

I got these just in time for my trail running and hiking trip in Moab. The days were HOT but these shorts breathe very well. The fabric are a tad thicker than the Salomon running shorts, but the mesh panels (the blue colored fabric) on the sides really help with the venting. I love the *zippered* pockets - they are big and secure. When I run, I put gels in them, and when I hike I put my iPhone in one pocket. The waist is flat and super comfy, just like other Salomon running shorts. The shorts are pretty long, which is just what I wanted. Hiking in them means putting on less sunscreen while not compromising on the airy-ness, and I can run in them no problem b/c of the light weight. The fit is relaxed if you order your regular size.
