Description

Increase the versatility of your Salomon Quest Boots.

If you have been touring with a heavy alpine touring binding while wearing Salomon Quest boots and are ready to make the switch to tech bindings, or if you are just looking for more grip while hiking, the Walk Soles from Salomon will enable you to make the switch. They provide far more grip on the snow than alpine soles, and have built-in tech binding compatibility for far increased touring efficiency and weight savings.

  • AT and tech binding compatible

Do these soles work with the guardian? Are they compatible and will they release properly?

Responded on

I just called Salomon at 1 800 875 2619 and they confirmed the walk soles work with the guardian.

These are not tech compatible

The WTR Touring norm do not have tech fittings.

Responded on

The low tech version is the one that works with Dynafit/tech systems.

Are those going to be available soon?

Are these compatible with previous year Salomon boots. I have 2011/2012 Quest 14 that I'd like to use these on.

Are either of these soles compatible with Dynafit bindings (it looks like the steel plate is missing from the heel in the picture)? I've got one set of skis with Dynafit Comforts on them and another pair with Dynafit Radicals on them. And if so, which version of the sole, and will it fit last years Quest X100 boots?

Responded on

Hi,
the soles will fit your boots, and that picture is a bit funny. I'm sure its a mix up with that missing plate in the heel piece. these soles are compatible with both of those bindings, so no worries there. If for some reason they show up without that heel plate send them back and we will get it fixed right away

Responded on

Just got these in so I can use my Dynafit bindings. They ARE NOT compatible-there are no forefoot holes for the Radical bindings.

UPDATE: I spoke to Salomon. They were recalled last year. They are re-releasing them, but they are all on back order. It is possible the ones that Backcountry has on backorder will be the new ones!!!

Responded on

I'm holding the new model, though not from backcountry.com, it is dynafit compatible, and has all metal connection points. I feel good about these as a means to start using dynafit.

What's the difference between the "Low Tech" and the "Touring Norm" versions of the soles? Are they both compatible with Dynafit bindings?

Responded on

Hi Samuel,
Not sure what you mean by the different versions. I am only seeing one available and the one available is definitely compatible with dynafits

Responded on

The "Touring Norm" are slightly rockered soles for easier walking, compatible with specific bindings.
The "Tech Norm" are compatible with Tech bindings.
