The Salomon Teneighty Ski outwits other all-mountain slayers with its Powder Award-winning performance everywhere from the steeps and terrain park. These mid-fat twin-tips carve up chords, crud, and hips with control and confidence and land switch in pow like it ain't no thang thanks to a smooth, easy-skiing shape. So it just dumped two feet and the park is closed? No worries, the Teneighty's floaty design is ready to puff through pow. It's super crusty out and there are flocks of beaters in the park? No worries, the Teneighty has the durability to slide on downed trees, knows how to hold an edge on the groomers, and can jib off the sides of your favorite runs. The Teneighty is up for anything.
Hey I am 5 foot4 and weigh 130ponds I have been skiing on a set of 156 dynastar twintips they feel just about right I was wondering what size of these to get. No I don't know the name or year of my dynastars. If it helps I wear size27.5 ski boots so if u have any decent binding suggestions for a good price. :)
Probably the 161 cm ski of this should be a good length if you are skiing 156 already. As for cheapish bindings, check out Look Px 12, Rossi 120, or similar Dynastar bindings. You can get them cheap in the offseason.
These ski's are very good respond well to almost all conditions. Being twin tips, they are great fun allowing the rider to ski switch. They truly excel on groomers, where they are near perfect. The flex of the tips allows for the ski to ride through bumps, slush and crud without a problem making them go beyond most skis. On icy conditions they do slide around a bit, but that is expected. Likewise they run into some problems on deep fresh powered, where you really do have to work the ski, this is mainly due to the narrow width of the ski compared to true power skis and many other twin tips. But they work great on powered that has been ridden on before. Finally these 10th anniversary 1080 FOILS are better than years past, as they are solid wood core as compared to the foam core. This gives them a longer life and don't lose their stiffness as much or quickly. If you want a fun ski that handles most conditions and is truly all mountain look no further, I have found a single ski that will take the place of several in my quiver.

Hi, I started skiing this season, actually i've skied arround 20 days with lessons, this spring break i started skiing at backmountain and off-piste and i loved it and next season i wanna start skiing park...Would the teneightys be a good first-skis for me or I must improve my ski level to get a twin-tips??
The skis i've been used this season were an atomic SX with a salomon crappy boots(rented material),so I wanna buy a ski boots too..Any recomendations?? Thank you and sorry for my bad english!!
The FOILs are more of an all mountain ski and not really build for the park. Twin tips are really no different to ski on, but I would recommend a softer ski with more of a flex to them. They will be more forgiving and allow easier park skiing. Check out park and pipe skis
The 1080's would be an alright ski, quite forgiving, and decent characteristics to learn from, but is more of an intermediate to advanced park ski. For a more all level ski, check out something like the K2 Extreme, Volkl Bridge, or maybe even the Armada AR6. As for boots, I suggest going into a shop and trying on as many pairs as you can to find one that works for you.
These skis are sick!!! Ive only used these bad boys once but that was enough for me to realize the true greatness of these all mountain rippers. Although these are all mountain skis they still tear it up in the park. They have lots of pop but are still stiff enough to stomp landings and tear up the rest of the mountain. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a killer all mountain/park ski.
Hi i'm lookin to buy some skis good for park and tight tree trails mostly park though. What would be a good pair and what length? I'm 6"1 and around 220lb.
The best 50/50 ski would be the Volkl Bridge and for someone your size I would recommend the 185cm. If you want something a little more narrow and shorter check out the K2 extreme 179cm. Also, I would recommend avoiding foam core skis for someone your size; I'm 6'3" 185lbs and I blew out a pair of Salomon skis similar to these in one season.
If you are looking to use these skis for park riding you should also look into Volkl Wall, Armada AR6, K2 Extreme (formerly the K2 public enemy), or the Salomon Suspect.
This ski has been Salomons bread & butter for a decade and its reputation preceeds itself. To give this ski a 2 star review (without owning a pair) is purely acinine.
I want to hit everything and anything to be honest, Most of my time is spent on the slopes, but i hit the park too for the kickers, any ideas which size i should go for?
Hi there, my first time actually buying a set. I've hit the slopes a lot, including large parts of Italys resorts aswell as the artificial snowdomes around the northwest and I have always wore size 161's. Now I have never used a pair of twin tips before, I am just wondering, would a 161 still be sufficient? I am just over 5"8 and am 11 stone. Thanks for any help
161 sounds pretty short, especially if you're going to center-mount the skis, but the real questions is: Where do you plan to spend most of your time on the slops? Pipe/Park? Groomers? Off-piste? Backcountry?
I bet the Z12 Ti binding from Salomon would be a great combo with these skis for you. http://www.backcountry.com/store/SAL1514/Salomon-Z12-Ti-Alpine-Ski-Binding.htmlI would go with the Z10 since you are small. The Z12 is the exact same binding but more expensive and for heavyweights.
Fun. just plain Fun. depending on the length, these are very lively and responsive in the bumps. They have gotten a little wider over the years, which effects it a little bit. If you want a super fun, all mountain ski that turns the hill into a playground, I would recommend.
Anybody got an opinion on the 06 1080 Foils? (blue w/ foil in white) I am an advanced skier and a local ski shop still has some new available. I like to ski a little bite of all terrain from east coast to west. Also, I am 5'-10" 170 lbs currently skiing on Salomon Verse 160's looking to step up in size. Local ski shop recomended the 166's I am still thinking that might be to small. Thoughts?
First of all your local shop does not know what it is talking about or is not familar with twin tips, you sould be riding this ski in the 182 or if they don't have any go 174, do not go any small then that for your size or you will just over power it, i'm 5'-7" and the 166 was way to small for me when i rode it, and felt great in the 182. Now as for the ski, it was unchanged from 06 to 08 just different graphics, it is a great all-mountain ski, at 85 in the waist it skis some powder, carves groomers, and was widely used in the park. the cons of it are that it chattered at speed in superhard/icey conditions because of its foam core and doe's not have a smooth damp feel to it because of the foam core. they are a strong ski that can take a fair amount of abuse, but like all salomon skis have soft bases that get damaged easily. If you could pick up a pair for less then say $275-$250 go for it. Otherwise I would keep looking you can find better deals out there.
I'm an intermediate skier, fairly aggressive, and want to continue to improve. I'm also on a budget. What skis would you recommend? I'm 6'1", 180 pounds (if that helps). I get out to the Rockies once a year, plus ski a local hill near Cincinnati. Thanks.
Go on the outlet and take a look at the o8 scott punisher for 300 bucks, it is a way better ski then this ski, also look around and see if you can find last years salomon foil, they were a great all mountain ski, you sould be able to get it for around 300 to 350. good luck. This willie guy above me is talking crazy. For groomers and a little bit of all mountain/powder the teneighty would be a great ski for you. Salomon always makes a quality ski. This years model of the teneighty now has a woodcore which will make it a much more durable ski. I would highly recommend it.
I am 5 '11" about 170 I have been skiing the salomon 1080 161 ( I know its way too short for me) I need new skis ASAP and am looking for something similar to the 1080. I prefer twin tips and like to hang out in the park once in while but am generally an all mountain intermediate/expert skier. I ski on the East coast Do you have any recommendations?
Write your answer here. These are brand new 09 skis, salomon is releaseing a newer version of it's original 1080 ski ( who knows why ) I guess it's supposed to stir up some sort of nostalgia, But with so many good ski's out there now why bother. Twin tip skis have changed so much since then, in dimentions and are so speicalized for how you ski I'm sure you could spend your money elsewhere and get a much better ski.
